Hayden is such a down-to-earth guy. I think he & Sienna were just friends (with him possibly hoping for more) but I think he realized that she would never fit into his life. I'm sure his family saw right through her when she visited him in Canada. He's normal and wants to taken seriously. She doesn't seem to share the same aspirations.
