Why doesn't anyone work to improve South Carrollton? Its appalling how many children play in the streets and how many roads are dilapidated. Don't they have a mayor or someone who even tries to do this stuff? Some roads and back-ways were left inaccessible for days during the ice storm. Its like no one even cares. I think there may be other small towns in Muhlenberg County experiencing the same problems. While Central City and Greenville get improved, small towns are just forgotten completely. If only they could make some towns as nice as they have made downtown Greenville, I think some people would be much happier here.

They have New Sidswalks, Nice street lamps, and Do think they have a Mayor and City Council. I do agree with you. They can get a grant from that money in Greenville if Dale Todd hasn't spent it all to improve there town.

I hear david rhodes is the mayor, holds at least 23 City Council seats, and is the busiest bootlegger of South Carrollton.

Seems like enough money gets wasted around here, and not enough gets done really.

Hell you got some new sidewalks...what else do you want, a country club and a airport? How many people pays taxes there...50?

No like a nice place for kids to play or a youth center. New sidewalks don't solve all the problems. Especially when a lot of the roads are not worked on or cleared for weeks. We don't need a country club or an airport, we just need some things repaired and new things brought in. I'm sorry if its not "so grand" as Central City or Greenville, but it is a home to many people.

What's your problem with South Carrollton anyway? Too many "white trash" I guess for your taste.

We just want our town to look nice too; and to have a safe place than a street for the kids. They put in a new little jungle gym beside the community center, but that means the kids still get in the street. Its hard to keep them off of it; so many parents have to work and a lot of those kids get home in the early afternoon. Where else are they suppose to go? And no matter how much you tell them to not get in the road, they still will. Its sad; one of my friend's dad almost ran over a little boy bicycling out into her road. What's more, there are quite a few teenagers, and I don't think they'd appreciate a jungle gym like a smaller child would.

I agree with harley22,there's nothing wrong with living in south carrollton. years back, south carrollton was one of the town's considered for the site of western kentucky university. and, in its day it was a booming town cause of the river and railroad. If not for the river towns in the county, munlenberg county would not be what it is today.

I heard it did once have an university, near where the road to the river is. One of my english teachers was researching the history of the town. I think it also use to reach farther; maybe past the CCE school. I think it is a shame that so much has been let go there when it has such promise as a small town.

Do you think it would be worth my time to talk to the mayor? Maybe if I cold get enough ppl behind this thing, something might actually be done. I guess it couldn't hurt. IDK, maybe all we will ever get is new sidewalks and street lamps :(
LOL Funny thought: I think they still use the same decorations during x-mas on the light poles that they did in the 80s.

Somebody has already torn up the little jungle gym they put up. They want the kid's parents to pay to fix it. Really the place needed to be fenced in.

Does everyone have to be such a jerk?? The jungle gym needed to be fenced in! The thing is right next to the street and the railroad tracks; and it needed to be locked up at night so those older kids couldn't get in. Apparently everyone thinks they're better than everybody else and that wanting something better for a community is just not important at all. What happened to brotherly love for your fellow man?? Apparently South Carrollton is the central asshole of Muhlenberg County to all of you!!

Yeah...I don't think so.
No one on this forum site for Muhl can take anything seriously.
HarleyQuinn22 is just wanting to voice her concern over the town.
I think that anyone who doesn't want to better their community
