Great!! I love it. Make the sentence fit the crime. That's pretty low if you feel you can steal birthday money from a kid.

This is awesome, utterly awesome. The only thing better would have been to put them in a set of stocks.

Nothing like some good old fashioned SHAME to punish criminals that commite bonehead crimes like stealing from a 9-year old. I mean, come on, it's sure a LOT better than living in Syria, where criminals are beheaded for certain crimes and criminals that rape and kill children are beheaded AND crucified.

Good for that Judge! It's about time judges make people accountable for their actions and make them do things that will tell everyone what they did instead of being able to keep this a secret. There are consequences for doing and not doing things all through life. That judge would have my vote!!!!

Who do I see about starting a "dye the fellon" movement? I've replied to other stories and want to start dying felons vs incarcerting them at tax payer expense... DUIs - maybe pink...(won't be selling booze to a pink person)... Shoplifting - oh - green...(gonna be under surveillance in every store)... anything someone MIGHT serve a few months for - they have to stay dyed that long... Go away for 30 days - it's a vacation --- roof over your head --- 3 meals --- cable TV --- get up each day - know what to wear... Dye fades along with the sentence... Leave the facilities for serious (not that DUIs aren't serious) criminals...

It sounds satisfying to NORMAL people, but in fact, most sociopaths don't care what other people think about them. This is a relatively easy sentence for a sociopath.

I wouldn't call jail a vacation at all, especially for 30 days. However, I agree that we should find more creative and less expensive means for dealing with petty criminals who don't aren't likely to harm anybody. Incarceration shoould only be used when public safety is a concern.

I reckon this woman got this sentence because she didn't have a record prior? Given her age and looks, and the relative "unprofessional" crime she pulled, she's not smart enough to be a sociopath! Just did something really stupid and now she gets her lesson?

Well, we can hope.

Can we get Bernie Madeoff and some Wall Street bankers to hold up some signs of shame?

Finally, a punishment that actually fits the crime. Good one!

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Sagittarius

It's time to assess your Christmas preparations. Have you written and posted all your cards? If not, get cracking now while you're in the mood to get them all out of the way. You'll also enjoy a quick trip around the shops to see what's on offer and tick off a few more items on that long list of yours. If you're stuck for a present for someone, maybe you could find a book that they'd like.
