The sad thing here, Many family's have lost loved ones, but only 6 have offered to give DNA. Why you ask, the DNA they give may indict other members of their families in other crimes. Why else would it be that they are not willingly offering DNA. If my family member was missing I would be there giving my DNA. You watch, one of the activist will offer DNA samples if they can only be used here and not shared with other police departments.

They should let this fella go, right on Imperial Avenue

You are so right. Funny, only when it suits them.

My prayers go to the victim's families!

And since when does the type of life the victim lead make it ok or not ok for them to be murdered?!

Just because you have an addiction does not mean you are a bad person. It does not make their murder any less tragic than a person who lives 100% by the bible! We are all children of God!

Grow up everyone! And remember things are not always as they seem!

No one said it was OK for them to be murdered. The point in the beginning was that people said because they were black women, that no one was bothering to look for them. It was then suggested that maybe because they were addicts, prostitutes or homeless, no one may have been looking for them. No one said they deserved to die because of what they were.

read your message and tried to make sense of how this is comforting to all the families who are affected by this tragedy. There is a time and place for everything and right now families are mourning, You should have kept your opinion to yourself, It was very ugly and so not needed at this time. It's obvious that you did not listen attentively. It was stated that the victim had abused drugs and alcohol. We all have a past some are revealed some aren't but the keyword is "past". This article is not abput someone getting high, it is about a life being taken and families mourning. Your speech about enablers is somewhat true and can be used positively but in the right setting. People are so cruel and have no sympathy. May God work on your heart and help you to use your experiences in a positive to way so that you will get positive results.

I agree with you, I would have went straight to the authorities. But there is probaly a reason behind why they did not go the authorities. Especially if an individual is abusing drugs, they are not thinking or reacting as a normal person would. In addition, they don't believe in theirselves and just because of the lifestyle I would have to believe they feel like there are discredited in so many ways...It is easy to say what we won't and will do but I have to believe that it would be a different story if we actually walked in these people shoes and live their lives. As we know there are people that are being abused everyday, a fact not an opinion and they never tell. There is a reason why "some never tell."

The coroner's office has now made that statement, that DNA samples will not be passed on to the police department. Unbelievable shame for the black community, that you have to be given special treatment to help solve crimes in your own neighborhoods. Wake up, this is one of yours killing yours, and all you can do is mill around stupidly, pointing fingers at someone else.
By the way, where is Art McCoy, I miss the no justice, no peace chanting. That's solved a lot of community problems.

They have now identified another woman. Her mother didn't even report her missing. Thought she was living with her boyfriend in Akron. Had 4 kids. Who was raising those kids? You folks in the black community should be ashamed of yourselves. So many of the actions that you take (or don't take) are part of the issue of all of the problems you are having. It has nothing to do with racism. It has to do with how you raise your families (too many women having too many babies with too many men, drug use, prostitution.) Yes, this happens in the rest of the world too, but just look at the neighborhoods you live in? And you wonder why the whites moved out of those neighborhood? Time to look in the mirror and start doing things that will change things. You can go into any city and find a neighborhood that is all black - and you can tell. Go ahead and attack. I don't care. As Jack Nicholson said, "You can't handle the truth!"

I live in Georgia now,but my heart will always be in Cleveland. I can only say how sad and unhappy i am to see that ONE MAN can cause so much heartache for so many families.None of these women deserved to leave this earth the way they did, regardless of how they lived their lives.I will keep all of these women and their families in my prayers., And i pray that MR.SOWELL finds the strength he will need when he MEETS HIS MAKER..GOD BLESS ALL OF THESE WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES,AND MAY THEY NOW REST IN EVERLASTING PEACE...............

To DUH: Regardless of these womens lifestyles, they didnt deserved what they got.We all know all of them were not drug users,so what does it matter, drugs or not, life was taken and for what,to fullfill a I can do this and nobody cares, rethink your statements, because you have women in your family that have issues and maybe some dont.but they dont deserve to meet this kind of FATE either.May you continue to be Blessed.

Mama had no presence in her daughter's or srandchildren's lives during the year her daughter was missing. She had no compulsion to report her daughter as missing, but was 'compelled' to visit the Imperial Ave site of the murders, and to appear on the news as a concerned parent and grandparent! Put your head back in your arse lady, it's too late to pull it out now. Shoulda done that while your daughter was growing up!

Why should "DUH" rethink their statements? No where in their posts have they said they deserve to die. We are saying these women's life style is the main reason they ended up where the did. Does that mean they deserved to die? NO, that is not implied either. There are sick individuals walking amongst us, just like this Sowell. When you lead a lifestyle like these women, you're more apt to run across someone demented like this guy. Another note, it makes it rather hard for family members to know if you're actually missing or just out roaming the streets, prostituting or looking for drugs to score. Which is the case with these victims of Sowell, that is why many had no missing reports filed.
