This link shows a crime in the city of Avon. The crime? Some guy shooting at scum that had just broke into his truck. He hit one of the scum and now is charged with a felony. This man is a service man and an upstanding citizen. Our government is sending a clear message to criminals, they care more about you than law abiding citizens. Things were much better in this country when citizens were able to take the law into their own hands. Had this been a cop shooting at the fleeing car all would have been fine. We have taken baby steps with our gun laws in this state but we need to push harder. Whats next? She will probably sue this guy for damages. |

Meant to say 'Our da@n laws need changing!' OOPS.

I'm about tired of these piss-ant laws too! Maybe we should find some place to e-mail and send letters to about the Staff Sgt. and post complaints that he's in jail for trying to protect his property. Maybe if the law system sees a lot of us complaining about all these idiotic laws, something will be done. And if not, maybe we need to vote for someone else next time!
I saw a news story where this drunk driver woman hit and killed a girl and was in court. The mother of the girl that was killed jumped up and attacked the woman who killed her daughter. The judge said in an interview that he was going to throw the book at the attacking woman. This woman lost her daughter to a drunk. So how is she supposed to feel? Should she offer to buy the drunk a beer? Hell!!!, I'd have done the same damn thing! Only I would have done a lot more damage to the drunk before the bailiff could stop me! I know the woman attacking the drunk was wrong but to convict her after what she's went through is a little much. Hasn't she paid enough in the situation? I mean, she lost her daughter in the deal.[And by the way, both the attacking woman and the drunk woman were whites.] |

The problem is bleeding hearts. They say why should you be able to shoot at people fleeing after a minor crime. But as I said, police do it all the time.
One of the problems is that citizens are naive. Say that you came out and they flashed a weapon at you and you fired. That is what police do. No weapon found, so what. It works for the police all the time and they are supposedly 'trained professionals' that mistake keys, cell phones and wallets as guns. For my defense I would bring in the numerous cases of trained police making such mistakes. If they can make a mistake so can I, case dismissed. Citizens better wake up and say you saw them point something at you or they tried to run you over. If somebody tried to run over a cop they are allowed to shoot at the fleeing suspects. Citizens better wake up and realize the law isn't on our side, it is up to you to protect yourself from the criminals and the law. Be smart. |

I understand the frustration, but these things all take time. We went from being unable to defend yourself in your home to the Castle Doctrine which was shortly followed by Concealed Carry Weapon laws.
You have to understand while we share the same sentiment, there are large groups of liberals out there who feel the exact opposite. In another blog I belong to, half of the members defend life in prison over the death penalty. Not all people feel the same way we do. And that makes decision making on behalf of politicians a nightmare. I know these people--I know how they think. And if I were to post this story, I guarantee you every liberal on the board would be sticking up on behalf of the law telling us that personal property is not worth the life of a scum bag. That taking law into our own hands is the wrong thing to do. That it would lead to excuses of people killing somebody they wanted to kill and using a law that states you can kill somebody for stealing your property, and the list goes on and on. But just for ships & giggles, I think I will post the story to the other blog to see what kind of response I get.:) |

Seriously though, the death penalty is different for me. I know how crooked our 'system' is so I am not cut and dry on it. Straighten out our system and I am for it, keep it as is I am against it. Witness testimony is simply to unreliable and justice costs too much money.
That said, if you catch somebody red handed.....game, set, match. LOL I am for dealing with serious criminals as you know, so I am no bleeding heart. I can be for using lethal force to defend your property and against the death penalty as our system is currently set up. How do you know these people will not be back? How do you know LE will be there to protect you? What about the UNARMED person that startles a burglar? How long do police take to respond? How many 'non violent' crimes lead to violence when the criminal is surprised? IMHO once you violate somebody's property in such a manner you are putting your life in their hands. Should they be allowed to capture you and act like the movie SAW? No. But should they be able to shoot at you, hell yeah!!!!!! |

The thing about protecting your own property and the way I see it is, like a lot of other people, I worked hard for what I have. I don't have as much as the next guy, or not new things like others have, but it's mine and I worked for it. So, say some scuz head moseys into my garage and grabs my lawn mower and is running down my drive to a waiting car with the trunk open. I call the cops and by the time they get here, the guy's long gone......and so is my lawn mower. Then the cop tells me that there's a real good chance that I'll never get the mower back. So, I what? I have to go out and buy another lawn mower? I don't think I should have to. I HAD one! Then, a day later, some a-hole throws a brick through my window in a random vandalization. The cops again tell me they'll never catch the kids. So, what? Now I have to pay for a new window? And these vermin will just go on and on, stealing lawn mowers and breaking windows because they were born with defective brains. Ha! To me, my lawn mower means more to me than their worthless, wasted lives.

Screw you pepper, you have no rights. Screw your property. Screw your house. Screw your sanity. A bear in a national park has more rights than you. It should be noted you aren't alone because our government also says screw mapleman, xxratyed and all law abiding citizens. They wont do anything but if we do we are wrong, unless like them we just lie about what happened.
We defend our property they probably would confiscate our computers and internet records trying to make a case against us. It is like the government doesn't want people to wake up and realize we can defend ourselves and big brother should only come and clean up the mess. |

Well I did post the link in the other blog, here are some of the comments by the liberals. Total responses so far, 52:
All four should be in prison. Time to bring some order to this area. I want to live in your world, Ray. A guy tries to steal your car, then flees, and you start wildly shooting. No chance that an innocent person gets hit, now, is there? Ray's hero could have as easily taken down the license number and description of the car and occupants, rather than shooting. The people were retreating and were no threat to the hero. The hero used deadly force in a property crime and put others in danger. The hero will likely end up a felon for shooting the one person who didn't break into his truck. Hopefully the prosecutor will make an example out of the hero. A friend of mine was killed in college when, at an outdoor concert, someone drunk idiot shot a gun straight up in the air. The bullett came down, went through her skull, and she died. Judging by the way people drive - after they've had to pass a test and probably drive their cars every day - I don't trust the average American to own, secure, or use a gun. Few people who own guns ever receive the proper training they need to own or, God forbid, use it responsibly. As for "killing all three," doesn't that break a commandment and pretty much the entire philosophy of your deity? I seem to recall Jesus being a little more understanding. Oh, you angry backwards people. he weaker your argument the more personal you make it. I am for throwing the book at any idiot who uses a gun to solve a problem, if that makes me limp-wristed so be it. God forbid! They'd be out there damaging your car! A capitol crime! Better that you splatter their guts with your gun only to find that you don't really want to live with that - nor does your wife, or the neighborhood kids. Again, Ray, "Thou Shalt Not Kill" is always negotiable, isn't it? I would say the responses were about 60% for this guys actions and 40% against. So like I told you guys, these politicians have this to battle when creating laws like CCW and the Castle Doctrine, and that's why it's difficult for them to extend the Castle Doctrine to allow people to defend their property. |

Yeah, seems like an uphill battle with the idiots. They seem to be programmed like drones. We will see how they feel when one of their wives startles a thief and the thief beats and rapes her.
On that note I think I messed up with the original case, turns out it was drug related. Our 'upstanding' military guy was moving dope and owed these people some money. I remember a similar case like this years ago. People went to go to a dealers house and one got shot, the dealer didn't get charged though but the real story never made the paper. |
I hope none of the liberals in the blog hear about that. LOL! I really stuck up for this guy. In fact, I titled the subject line as "My hero of the week."
Don't get me wrong here because if I saw someone trying to steal my car, I'd love to put an end to his lousy life with some lead slugs to his head but on the other hand, if someone say, parks their car on my street about a couple houses from me, and someone's out there breaking into it, and the owner sees it and pulls a piece and starts spraying the guy, and some of the shots miss, and the thief is between the shooter and my house, those shots that miss him have a good chance of hitting my house, my dog or me. So, I'm on the fence [as they say] on this one. And believe me, one of the waste of lives I really despise is a thief who breaks into homes or steals cars.

I agree, but like anything else, being in possession of a firearm comes with responsibilities just like driving a car or drinking beer. So if it were legal to kill thieves, and citizens gun down 500, but in that 500, an innocent person gets hurt or killed, is it worth reversing that law because of that one person? That's the big question.
In Saudi Arabia, a court there upheld the sentencing of a child rapist. He will be beheaded, and his carcass crucified. But you know something, Saudi Arabia has very few child rapists there. |
We should have laws like Saudi Arabia here. Hell.....the way they're making up these laws like health insurance, maybe they WILL make a law that if you steal a car or rob a bank, you get your hands cut off. And you don't get any compensation from the government to buy you mechanical hands. Your family would have to take care of you. You rape someone, you get your xxx cut off with a rusty and dull saw blade. You run from a cop that tells you to freeze, you get your legs cut off. That'll be next on the government's agenda. lol
I will take our laws as opposed to Saudi Arabia. Some woman cries rape and I am getting my balls cut off. Hell no. Now if you have sex while both of you are drunk you can be charged with rape.
The reason the laws work for those people are they have a higher standard of character than Americans. Also, women are women, men are men and children are children over there. A lot of people call Arab society backwards but ours is the really backwards society. |
Was that a shot at me--getting your xxx cut off? LOL!
Unlike Saudi Arabia, we have way to many social programs here. If we cut off the hands of a thief, he will not be able to support himself, so we would put him on welfare and/or social security. And then we would have to feed him, so off to the food stamp line you go. Then we would have to house him, and HUD will send him here to Maple Heights. And of course, because he does not have medial insurance, he will be on our Medicaid program draining the system. In Saudi Arabia, you get your hand cut off, tough luck. You should have thought about that before you stole something. Starve A-hole. |

I am just saying what works for them works for them because they have a different culture and value system. They have a culture where people want justice. They don't have a culture where the D.A. only cares how many notches he has in his belt so he can advance his career.
As I always said I am all for harsher justice in America(Not anything as crazy as Saudi Arabia). I want it only when prosecutors will be held criminally and civilly responsible for wrongful prosecution or not investigating a criminal complaint competently. I am seeing to many people released because of DNA testing and this crooked prosecutors even try to slow that process down. |
The prosecutors don't decide the innocence or guilt of the suspect All they can do is decide if the case is court worthy. Now unless you get a case like those LaCrosse team players where not only was there no evidence, but evidence to support their innocence, prosecutors should not be held to any criminal charges.
And of course, now that we have this DNA, it makes proving guilt of somebody more positive. Less likelihood of mistakes. So we can look forward, and not backwards when all we had were testimonies of people involved in whatever case that sent them to prison. But my point in all this is that because our prisons are adult playgrounds, we will never get a hold of crime because there is not deterrent. The Saudi Arabia case proves that the harsher the punishment--the less crime a community will have. It's these damn liberals and religious crowd that keeps telling us that the death penalty isn't a deterrent, and making prisons prison again will only cause riots. |
I don't think I'd like it too much if that one out of 500 people was one of my friends, relatives, my dog or me. But on the other hand, I'd love to have to drive around dead car thieves in the road. lol |
