I really liked Danica Patrick ... was so disappointed when she opted to do those horrible "Go Daddy" commercials.

Now I find her to be an embarassment when it comes to being a role model.

Just another overhyped middle of the pack driver.
Nascar is now just a media circus, drivers that cant drive, but can represent thier sponsers.

Good grief, successful race car driver and female at that, married, drug free, very pretty, tough, don't take shit off male racers, got the pole for todays race, and with go-daddy being the one who dictates the kind of commercials they want to be known for while providing her race team with millions of dollars to run their product on her car....what freakin more could you ask for out of a female race car driver that wants to win? What?...you upset about the fact that she shows a little skin? I guess you don't like Carl Edwards and consider him to be a horrible role model for taking his shirt off in a commercial or two, right? Even though Danica and all other race car drivers support all kinds of childrens charities with their big money. She's a needed inspiration for women and young ladies in this sport or in anything adventurous in life and a damn good one at that.If there is anyone you should consider being upset with, it is the people that dictate what kind of commercials she does if you think its all that bad. They pay for the advertisement she provides, by giving her the opportunity financially chase her dream.

Glitz over game. She's heading down the unfulfilled path blazed by Anna Kournikova:

Sad. She'll be remembered for knocking down a lot of money and attention... I hope she manages to a least win a few stock car races before she gets too old for the cheesecake ads.

She's still very young, very talented, will physically be able to race cars probably longer than most can play tennis, and she's just begun. Not to mention see has a couple of the most well funded teams in the sport supporting her which no other female that has tried has been that lucky to have.

Anna Kournikova never really was that great at tennis, and she knew it, and she pursued the glamour more so than she did tennis. Danica is not like that. Given the choice if she could, she probably would rather keep her racesuit and helment on 24/7 and never do a single commercial. The woman has a passion just like the men for going fast and racing hard and that is cool to me whether she ever wins a race or not. I would love to see her prove many nay-sayers wrong and win some races and i honestly believe that in the nationwide series she will win a race or two maybe more. She's off to a good start today. And as long as she can stay safe till the end tomorrow at the 500, i think she'll finish in the top 15 somewhere. I'm rooting for her the whole weekend.

I haven't seen any Go Daddy ads so they don't affect my opinion of Danica's driving skills that won her the pole position in the Daytona race, which I understand is a really big deal. What does she do in the ads that is so bad?

Lol! Do you honestly think she would have all that backing if she wasn't so marketable/photogenic? She is not a great NASCAR talent, maybe not even average. Sexualization of female drivers is not good for women long term with respect to NASCAR. Enough of the soft-porn images. Danica should keep her clothes on and let her driving talent, or lack of it, speak for itself.

Very young? as compared to what, dirt. Talented? She has one win in open wheel cars, where she also drove well funded cars. She was a cheerleader in highschool, before dropping out and obtaining her g e d . She is the equivilent of jr, mediocre driver supported by a fanatic fan base.

She has been racing since 1992, i don't think that supports your statement of "she's just begun"

........and don't forget that her only win in open wheel was a result of fuel strategy by her crew chief, not her driving. I watched the duel races on Thursday and she was not really impressive. She seemed to not want to to move to the front and mixing it up with the big boys but found herself in a crash anyways. I remember the 2005 Indy 500 were she was in the lead with less than 10 laps to go to only choke under the pressure and get passed by 4 cars before the checkered flag. Tim Tebow, Jeremy Lin, Tiger Woods, and Danica Patrick: I'm sick of all of them. Tim is great because he prays, Jeremy because he's asian, Tiger because he's black, and Danica because she has a nice, tight a**.

Yep!

Religion, race, and looks sell these days whether a person deserves the credit they're getting or not. Tiger was great once upon a time but the media still drools over him. As for female race cars drivers, I truely believe Sarah Fisher was the best promise, but didn't get the cars and sponsorships she needed to be really successful because she wasn't this glamour queen that could sell tickets and products like that of Queen Danica.

Just watch on Sunday, the pre-race show will be all about Danica and Jr. will just be a memory.

Poor Jr., LOL!!

To say that she is not a great nascar talent is just a little premature considering this is her first full time season in nascar nationwide series. At the end of her first season would be the usual time to start assessing her talent. So far this weekend she has been in 2 races. In both races, she was in a position that had her in front of over half of the rest of the field of men when she wrecked and both times she has been involved in the wrecks, it was another man in the field that wrecked her from behind. The lack of talent seemed to be behind her if you watch the replays.

29 years old is considered young, not almost dirt. Her NASCAR career is what i was referring to and yes, it has just begun. What does dropping out of high school and later obtaining a G.E.D. have to do with any of this?

Danica has more on her racing resume than most of the young men out there racing in the nationwide series full time and she has one of the best drivers out there in the sprint cup series (Tony Stewart) who believes in her abilities and is probably more qualified than anyone on here to notice talent when he sees it. Read the following about Danica Patrick......

There are many different strategies that different drivers take during any given race. Some involve moving to the front in the begining if you can and some don't. And its all a team effort. I listened online to her radio communications with her crew chief during both races this weekend so far and she did EXACTLY what her crew chief told her to do in each event and was wrecked because of someone else behind her in each event.
