I have two sausage, egg and cheese biscuits each morning for breakfast. How come I can not loose weight?

Maybe add in some hashbrowns too? Or a cinamon roll?

Yeah breakfast from a fast food joint doesn't count! My kid has cereal, toast, or a bagel almost every morning & it really does help her academically. Oj is a nice little kick for the morning too.

Another example of a questionable cause-and-effect relationship that the press ignores when reporting scientific informatioin. Does eating breakfast make you slimmer, or are slim people more likely to eat breakfast? That should have been the first question asked of the researchers in this study.

Breakfast = break the fast - every one should have some kind of HEALTHY meal when they wake. I won't train anyone if they haven't at least had some protein.

Kids should be staying away from sugars, check the labels! Captain Crunch is not a healthy breakfast. Cereals with oats, wheat, natural ingredients. Send your kid out the door with at least some fruit and a slice of wheat toast - that takes all of 1 min.

To personal trainer.
Are you serious? Diet is just one small part of overall health. One can eat all the "healthy" foods they want, but the daily intake needs to encompass as many of the food groups as possible to benefit from all the required amino acids, vitamins, etc. a human body needs, particularly the growing body of a youth.
And let's not forget exercise, needed to convert and burn those ingested calories.

According to the article, the study was done over five years, and the kids who ate breakfast gained less weight. The cause-and-effect question you raise seems to be answered in the study itself since it was done over five years and weight gain was tracked.

The sausages and cheese biscuits contain a lot of calories and not much nutrition except for the eggs.

Why add those if they are high in calories? Especially those cinnamon rolls that are NOT healthy for you.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Cancer

Your powers of concentration are finely honed today, enabling you to focus on something to the exclusion of all else. This is just what you need if you're hoping to make a big dent in your workload or you're doing something very fiddly or detailed. But it's important that you know when to stop, otherwise you might get really weary and lose your effectiveness.
