Hooters

Has anyone heard that when Hooters open the 13th.at 11;00 that there is to be a pro test??

There should be. We don't need to go to a restaurant just because girls are barely dressed! It should be for the food and atmosphere but not that kind of atmosphere. Our society has enough problems already without bringing sexuality into it. What happened to family atmospheres? That is the problem with Raleigh County. Sure, Beckley is growing but in what direction? All there is in Beckley is banks, car lots, shops, bars, video lottery parlors (which they should have banned from the get-go -- they do nothing but rob desperate people of their money), strip clubs and restaurants. So out of all of those, the shops are about the only decent things to do. Restaurants are good but look at the direction they are turning to. I think it is sad.

Oh wahh,. There are dozens of other restaurants in Beckley if people don't want to take their families to Hooters they can go somewhere else. Its not like they don't have any other place to go but there, sheesh lol

Hooters is a great place to go recovering from a divorce and finding some way to apreciate women again ,LOL ,, what is strange is how they try to promote a family atmosphere ,, never quite got that , I heard Hooters was an idea some men came up with and it must work cause they are expanding. Which anything that makes men happy prolly totally enrages a woman ,, oh well , i'll go be a bitter divorced man somewhere else

I DO NOT agree with where they put it. They could have put it somewhere else, not near a cemetary or MacDonld's playground, or all the hotels and main place where people visit here is Beckley when coming from the interstate but it only shows the morals of this City and County and the almighty dollar - It can causes certian people to blind their eyes.

I would not take a kid to MacDonlds on the weekin on Harpper Rd anyways. The last thing I would not like to have tell my kids is what a Southern X van is for and why it is sitting on the lot there then move around on all the hotel parking lots. You would think Ronald MacDonald would ban it from there.

Yes, there are dozens of other restaurants here and yes, people do not have to go to Hooter's but you are missing the morality of the situation. People don't go there strictly for the quality of the "food"...they go for the eye candy, which is fine IF it were a strip club or something. The thing that bothers me is these restaurants that rub by young girls barely wearing any clothes is taking some of these girls down the wrong road. Some will start at Hooters then go on to strip clubs and who knows where from there. I know that people can make their own decisions, but come on, when you were 18 or 19 you thought you knew it all too, just like I did, and we did not even have a clue - just like these young girls exposing themselves to earn a dollar.

And, Hooters shouldn't be a place where you can go and appreciate women again after a divorce. These girls/women are just being nice to the average Joe to get a bigger tip.

It is like everyone "plays" off of everyone. The girls are extremely nice to you, maybe even flirt to get extra money. The men (and maybe even some women) may go there strictly to lust after these people...It is a no-win situation except for the rich man who wears the big suit who just sits back, laughs, and collects the money. Sad.

I am sorry if I have morals.

The girls don't serve outside. Hotel guests will eat there.

You're treating this place as though its an actual strip club. I dare say you've never eaten at a Hooters Mary Jane.

During the past 5 years or so my family and I have travel and visited in Charleston, sometimes for doctor visits or for events there.
There have been more than time when we have passed the Hooters there and not only notice the girls out side, it was their actions and what they were doing (during the day) which was unreal. The positions they were in, jumping all around near the highway, shouting stuff and I am being nice about what we saw. It was sad to see that, we not only your kids but other peoples too. I had to think what would a parent say if they saw their daughter there doing that. Its sad and I would say that is what we will see here in Beckley and I do not want vistors to encounter that. I mean its bad enough that they have to follow the other sexual signs that lead to Beckley. I am sorry but I do have morals that I have to stand by, what would I be teaching my kids if I did not. They are Vets buried right behind there and Kids playing just down the road and a school near by. I just think they could have picked a better place to put such a place.

Your argument over its location is a weak one. Maybe if it were right across from a church, or an elementary school... but it's right off the interstate. Seems ideal to me. But then again, I don't have an anti hooters agenda or a Whitesville mentality. I mean, how many kids are up at that McDonalds playground staring down harper road? Seriously? I am a married woman, and we are very happy together. My husband has been to Hooters in Charleston with his nephew . I trust my husband to go to Hooters here in fact he has already made plans to go Wednesday. Talking about the girls who work there , if we had that kind of body now be honest how many of you would love to work there ? Yes girls flirt at all places for a better tip . So do the guys they are there to make a living . So hope all you guys enjoy yourself at Hooters as much as my husband does !!!!!

Well, my issue is not about the trust of my husband or wishing that I had a "Hooter's body", even though I wouldn't mind, lol, but the issue with me is putting these younger girls out there, being exposed at a young age when they think they know it all, and some of them digging themselves into a "bad" lifestyle. Sure it may be innocent to an extent but how far will some take it? It is about morality to me. You or your spouse shouldn't have to be "enjoying" themselves at a Hooter's or a bar or a strip club. They should be enjoying themselves at home with you. But, again, that is my opinion.

In an unrealistic make believe kind of world we can say that you wouldn't have to flirt or be overly nice as any waitress or waiter at any restaurant, but you do. If your not nice & you don't attend to your customers no matter what you look like you won't make tips but you do have to be friendly. Just like in any job, its a job with a different kind of dress attire. But those girls are not forced to work there or any other restaurants they chose to & they are not forced to wear the outfits most of them love to flaunt what they've got. I hate to say it but its not much different from some of the outfits I've seen women wear to the malls, your not going to stop guys from looking there either.

May 13th! I can taste the buffalo shrimp already! If Mary Jane wants to join me, I'll pay the bill.

I have to respectfully disagree.

FIRST - As far as it leading to a bad lifestyle for young girls...our society has changed drastically in just the last 20 years, and young people are being introduced to sex and mature content everywhere, much sooner than what they used to be. Is that okay and do I like it, no, but short of moving to another country or completely isolating my child, there is NO WAY to keep them from it, its everywhere... school, T.V., malls, restaurants, and even Churches, anywhere that they encounter other kids. All we can do as parents is talk to them and try to teach them what and when things are appropriate.

SECOND -
I am a young married woman and my husband has been to Hooters in Charleston, both with me and without me. Hooters is not what some are making it out to be. Yes, the outfits are skimpy, but on the right figure, they're really cute. Yes men are going to go there for the stereo-typical reasons, but so what, its harmless. At least its as harmless, as any restaurant, store, etc. where men and women interact... it doesn't take short-shorts and tank-tops to lead to "mischief".
The best thing we can do is realize that the world is what is, buy ourselves a Hooters
T-shirt, grab ahold and try to enjoy the ride... its too short to sweat the small stuff!!!

I have been told they redone that whole store including management so....... I would have to say this isn't happening or at least not now.

They open on the 13th of May. They are located on Harper Road just off the Interstate. The hours are 11 til midnight!! Hope this helps!
