.....ah here we go ,..a little slice of americana, or what little 's left of her,..I protested against the war but i joined on my 18th birthday too,.thats the kind of war it was,.hypocritical ambiguouse and not nesasary in my eyes at all,...
.
heres how it happened, our loving president was slepting marilyn monroe and I think jackie girl got wind of it as women always do,..
.
......anyhow jfk decided to take her over to the country she loved , france,.and while they were there god knows what went on in that bedroom and the secret service will never tell,..
.
...but they were a big hit with the french ,...not like today ,..now we dont understand them cause were a illeterate country because of intergration you see,.just one of the many sacrifices the goverments made mostly on us,.but nontheless,.
.
..in a nutshell,..they were a big hit and they brought back a war for the american people ( mostly i think because it got john out of hot water with jackie,..) and for thier sons who died like rats over there believeing in a war that had no reason,.. progress,.. or end,..
...when lbj heard we were going to war he called all his buddies in texas and they got to making munitions , cause everybody wanted to get rich off the war,.
.
.....a little while later jfk realized he blew it and signed papers to get the boys out and home but lbj didnt like that so a week after jfk, signed the papers he was mysteriousely killed ,.lbj took office and the war was on again and he eskelated it as much as he could and made as much money as he and his buddys could,...
.
later they had documenteries about how it appeared lbj killed nine guys to get the vice presedencey,.( so whats one more guy from mass?)
...
..and when they got back home the protesters spit on the at the airport and called them baby killers,.because of a place called mai lie,..another story,..
.
.but today what? the goverments what better? or better at hiding what really goes on,..? the answer lies in your future ,..good luck,..and god bless,...

......one more tidbit of information,...they make all the war stuff in texas,..so every time we gwt a presedent from texas we're going to war,..it's good business for texas,...
..
...another tidbit, nower days the goverments so much better for the people, today they denigh a small minimum wage increass and declare the country cant afford it,..( and heres the traiteriouse action that can never be undone,..) while in the SAME BILL DEMAND A SALERY INCREASE FOR THEMSELVES TO THE TUNE OF $60,000,00 EACH BECAUSE OF COST OF LIVING INCREASES,...
.
...hey is it me,.? or, are the leaders supposed to show the way in tough times ,.by seting an example, or what,..? or the basic belief if theres tough times they might take a salery DECREASE? due to the fact they are the ones we expected to be the most patrieotic ?.
.
..come on guys .//were being run by a pack of traiters and theyre keeping us jumping by keeping the carrot out of our hands ,..its not plantations anymore ,..its the same thing but different,..it's corporations,..and it adds up to the same thing,..slavery.
.
.......as long as they keep the decisions that might make the difference between sucess and falure out of our hands they rule like kings or somthing and it's

......... T R E A S O N ,...

...we got to take this country back from the B*A*S*T*A*R*D*S and put it in the hands of those it belongs in ,...THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES,..
.
..... nothings changed in 39 years the creeps just got more elaborate and fat off the little guy ,...
.
...god bless whats left of america,..our home sweet home.

.....you want to be a good american,..? a patriot to your country? wanna proove somthing to yourself god and life as we know it?

...there should be meetings across america,... everywhere theres a american out there and those people should be carrying pichforks and torches if nessasary there should be people finding within themselves the reasons and causes to stand up and be heard at any cost ,...
.
...no person in our borders should be chained to poverty and des[pair in the most boutyfull nation on earth,..
.

POLICYS WILL CHANGE AND A NEW BEGINING WILL ARISE FROM THIS TRECHERY .
.

......and believe me if we cant change it the rest of the world is sick of the horse s*h* i* t* washingtons shoving down thier throats and they will change it,...
..
..and we will be the ones who suffer like the ones in the world trade because we stood back and did nothing,...

The "background noise" in Southeast Asia was the carpet bombing of villages by US B-52s (Rolling Thunder), the droning engines of dioxin-spewing aircraft (Operation Ranch Hand), the screaming of murdered women and children at My Lai, and countless other atrocities.

The Vietnam Police Action (it was not a declared war) killed millions of Vietnamese, Cambodians, Laotians and poisoned perhaps forever vast stretches of once fertile land; unexploded munitions and land mines continue to hazard farmers there and will for generations to come.

America sent those too poor and those without connections initially to fight to preserve the worst elements of French colonialism and its retro dreams of Michelin tire to reestablish its hegemony after the defeat of the Japanese in WWll ... later to claim the vast oil resources that are today being developed in the South China Sea.

What may have been "background noise" for us was a blaring death horn for them.

I remember walking into a bar in Hempstead near Hofstra in my Marine greens and seeing a poster of a baby impaled on a bayonet. The caption was: "Learn a Trade, Join the Marines."

And now we are dealing with the corrupt political process going on in this country. Next will be the illegal alien thing. I see Chuck the schmuck Schumer has taken over the committee from Kennedy and is pushing for their clemency. Another war we are going to lose and can only be righted if these bums are voted out of office. Good Luck!!

I remember a friend came home on leave from Nam and it was near the 4th of July. We were sitting at the kitchen table having coffee in my house in Smithtown. Somebody set off a firecracker and he dove under the table. I'll never forget that. It brought the war to me in a personal way. I also remember not wanting to watch the news anymore, couldn't take all the horrible news night after night.

I am writting to you concerning the Summer of "69
Vietnam Era.
I was in my last year of my enlistment with the U.S.
Air Force stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base. 801 st
Civil Eengeenering Squadron. We were all woundering when the Vietnam war was going to end. Between the
Anti-War movement and the civilian population putting
us down for doing something that was justafiable and
right. We had a job to do. All branches of the Armed
Forces and we did it honorabley. At least we did not
discrace our families, nor our country by serving in
the military for doing something that we believed in
like the "Greatest Generation" and the "Koren Vets" did by proudly serving. But, us, Vietnam Vets got blamed for sometning that we did create.
Thankyou

Histroy doesn't really repeat itself...its more like rhyming!!!
In 1968 Filthy disgusting drug induced LIBs ripped our country apart......they finnaly got their way and the next thing I knew Jimmy "Lame" Carter was President leading to what I call "America's 2nd Great Depression" and the horror that didnt end till Ronald Reagan was elected!!

Now being all said and done.....I would have to say that it looks like "History is Rhyming" again!!

unfortunately there is the lunatic fringe in every era - on both sides of the issue. i never saw anything so blatant as the poster you write about, but there was resentment among some people toward returning vets which i always considered ridiculous.
i opposed the war, but supported the soldiers - they are not responsible for where they are sent. they dont set foreign policy. they follow orders if they are good soldiers.
the memory of the senior high school conversations are still clear in my mind: are you going to college or viet nam?
the politically connected joined the national guard, some went to college, some joined police departments (excused from the draft) and the rest were thrown into the unhappy lottery.
the reason given for that war? stop the spread of communism. if they take over south viet nam, the next stop is los angeles. gee.......i guess they were wrong about that.

No, the Communists didn't take over LA, just South Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Capricorn

You'll have difficulty finding equilibrium in your emotional life at the moment; try to control the impulsive side of your character. At work, your usual powers of intuition will be clouded. Fits of feverishness may bother you and break down your energy. If you can get out into the countryside for a walk, you'll feel much better.
