I file a lawsuit agains Conn's after I purchased a 65 inch DLP widescreen TV. The screen was scratched, there was fan noise, the picture frames broke, and the color was distorted. I wrote certified letters to the store manger, district sales manger, headquarters, and the legal department and no one replied. The judge send my case to mediation. It on only then that Conn's made things right. BUT, IT TOOK 6 FREAKING MONTHS. "I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN AND ADVISED MY ASSOCIATES TO NOT SHOP THEIR EITHER. I hope Conn's gets hit hard in the pocket.

I agree with you--I won't shop there again either! I'd rather do without something than buy it there. I don't like how they do business and it seems like the AG doesn't either!! You can never do bad in this world and not have it come back to you!!! KARMA IS A BITCH!!!!! What goes around, most certainly, does come around!!!!

their collection practices need to be addressed in a lawsuit as well they violate almost every rule in the fair debt collection practices act. maybe if enough people complain to the AG's office conn's will finally have to close it's doors due to all the fines that will be imposed.

If you pay your bill on time collections wouldn't call you. They have a right to call if you fail to complay with your contract. So I assume to can't pay your bill and that's why they keep calling you. If you pay they'll stop or return the product if you can't afford it.

The collection department wasn't my problem, its the service department. The don't service what they sell. We have been waiting over a year on some service work. No call no nothing. Just broken promises, saying they will call us on a given day.

I had purchased a middle priced treadmill from Conn's. After a few uses, the incline was not working properly. I called to have it serviced and they had to come out 3 times. After two times of servicing the unit, I asked if I can just return for a new one? They said "no" that I would have to have 3 service calls to justify it. Okay, so after my 3rd call I again asked the customer service rep who directed me to the manager of the store where I purchased. The manager would not disuss any arrangements about the return/exchange and said I would have to go into the store (which I was reluctant to do). All I wanted was Conn's to deliver (which I would pay)a new treadmill and pickup the one that is broken. I met with the manager at the store and he tells me that they no longer carry that model so I could not get an even exchange. He said I could go to a lower model which I did not care to or my best bet was to go higher. I told him just I did not want to spend anymore than originally spent. Bottom line, they never replaced it, I still have it and still paying on something that is not working properly. I will not shop at Conn's anylonger. Throughout the years I have purchased many, many items and have paid all in full as to my contract.

I have purchase many items like you from Conn's and all are paid for in full. We have problems with the service department not servicing there products they sell. We have been waiting our 2 years for a call. We will NOT do any more business with Conn's and there are a lot more people that feel like we do.

they try and pass off damaged items all of the time. you better look at your purchase and load it yourself before it's your problem.

"they try and pass off damaged items all of the time." That's true! We bought a television from them almost two years ago. After all the paperwork was done, all of a sudden they don't have that television in stock at the store. We were told we would have to go to another location (their "warehouse") and pick up one. We had just paid for delivery and set up but they refused a refund. So, after getting loud and refusing to go to another site to pick it up, there was a miracle and suddenly a television appeared in the back of the store!! LOL We were then asked if we would like help getting it into our truck! Of course, we would, you IDIOTS! Before we left the store with it, we made sure the box was new and sealed. Then we made them open it to make sure it was packed like it should be, and it was. So, that television was the last thing we bought from Conn's. I don't trust them anymore.

Almost the same experience. Sale item, not in inventory. I ordered what I wanted, they called when it came in, I went to pick it up... When I arrived, they offered to load it into the back of my SUV. Before the salesman left the vehicle, I opened the top of the box as one corner was crushed. Sure enough, the top right corner of the TV was cracked. I made them remove it and they miraculously had one in the warehouse that was OK. Last time I ever went there. I won't ever go back.

Even if you cannot pay your bills, you still have rights as far as collections is concerned. Companies do not have the right to break the law just because you cannot pay a bill. If you are waiting on a call for customeer service, will then you can forget the call. Its been going on two years for me.

Has anyone had problems with Conn's allowing false credit card applications? I just discovered that someone filled out an "online" credit card application and the store is taking no responsibility. I would like to hear from anyone else that might have had this same problem with this company because it seems that they are unwilling to work with me on finding out who might have done this. They will Not provide me any documentation of the actual application, they are refusing to give me any information. Please anyone that can be of assistance would greatly be appreciated, my email address is michelle76006@yahoo.com

the debt is not in question you idiot... it's a question of fair practices in collecting a debt .. which they violate consistantly do you know what the meaning of illegal is ? and for the record curcuit city went away due to expanding too quickly and not managing thier money but had they been committing the same crimes i would want them to go bankrupt as well.
