what to do nere in lee co. hunting / fishing / what else

we have a bowling ally, we gossip alot, we cruise around town, ummmm thats about it

what do we gossip about all i hear about is drugs

we do have a rec center but they always want to preach to you about jesus so...

i was thinking about moving there when i retire in about 3.5 years so just wanted to know what its like there.

I think I would move WAY SOUTH !!! Senery is pretty here but the rivers and streams are polluted , drugs and thieves are plentiful, not much to do in my opinion unless you have money so you can afford the gas to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
If copper prices go up again don't leave your home unless you want your plumbing, electrical and central air unit stolen.
You must have at least 1 vehicle in your yard that does not run and it really should be sitting on cinder blocks.

i agree with hot rod, you are a fool,the shit that goes on in Lee happens everywhere every city has their thieves, drug heads,and poor communities unfortunately they also have lazy ass,bitchy people like u that want to criticize and make fun of their community instead of getting off their ass to be involved in community projects and help out in some way. Im sure if you would think before u ran your ignorant mouth you could probably come with a few of your relatives that have stolen,done drugs,or maybe has a peice of junk in their yard clean your own damn nose and quit worrying about other peoples business if your ashamed of lee county,leave ,dont visit and keep your nosy ass off of LEE COUNTY topix ,dont worry about us .P.S. im sure at one time in your life you have littered a highway or a backroad and probably throwed out one of your nasty ass cigarette butts. stop with your negative comments and go pick up trash,go volunteer your time to help people with drug problems or help some older couple or single mother clean their house or yard or just shut the hell up

There is some truth to all of the comments above. But you need to investigate: 1) access to medical care, 2) distance from a metropolitan area if you are inclined to shop, 3) road cleaning in the winter (even OK this sucks), and 4) distance from family.

Beattyville has most services you would need, but if you live in a rural area of Lee County you may be faced with thievery and drugs. There are community projects and if you can have a voice. So few want to be involved. People are very cynical in that area. Go stay for a week or two and see what you think.

I love beattyville, cuz i can get away with murder, i can grow weed and buy any kind of medciation off streets w/o a doctors office bill coming in the mail. i can buy all my clothing and food needs at half off from the local shop lifters. and if i get mad at someone who gots kids i can sic the social services on them and make their lives a holy hell maybe even break up a family cuz the social services here has nothing better to do then terrorize families. i can miss treat all the animals i want w/o retribution, cept for the horses, they take your horses if you aint got em good and fat. i can dump all the animals i don't want on the side of the road and the constible don't get mad cuz he uses em for target pratice. prostitution isn't a problem here, i can buy em all day long with my prescription drugs, so not a problem picking up a prostitute. plenty of good doctors around if i aint real sick. i love this place. love it i do

I retired here several years ago. I've never seen the drugs, had anything stolen, and have no vehicles in my yard.
