Harry, Great pictures! I am wondering if you have any old photos of Second St, when the street was lined with trees and before all the houses were gone.( By Methodist Church ) If so could you please post them? Thank you

I didn't start photos until after Second Street was denuded. I was mostly interested in the downtown area as I produced a history of Brownsville. Second Street originally was a road that went to a ferry at Alicia and then was extended shortly after to a ferry at LaBelle and then to the present ferry at E. Frederickstown in 1795. ( that ferry will be closed when the new bridge at Alicia is opened)

Harry: Great photos! I am working on a PCA arts grant about Brownsville Architecture with a free public workshop to be held in one of the BARC properties. Do you have any photos or info/back stories of these three architectural style buildings?
Art Moderne - Borough? Building on Bridge & High Sts. The steel beam Snowdon Building and the Neo-classical Odd Fellows Building. Anything you have to share, wisdom, wit, photos, insights would be appreciated.

Harry I really enjoyed the pictures. I grew up in Hiller and graduated from BAHS in 1975. I have lived all over the US since them but these pictures really brought back some memories. Thanks

This picture is really beautiful. The Old Mon looks great. Wouldn't it be nice to turn back the hands of time, if only for a short while?
Remember the good old days swimming at the Sand Bar in West Brownsville?
Sad part, I lived on the Southside and very close to the river but never learned to swim. LOL

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Capricorn

Self deception will be the main issue today. You may be judging your situation wrongly: don't hold back, say what you think diplomatically and without being hurtful. This should result in a positive mental outlook for you. Competitive sports activity will ease any stress or tension.
