i just wanted to start by saying majority of this is wrong. i am one of the house hold members of the fire. i would like to start by saying there were more than 6 people forced to leave their holmes. and i find it unfair that not all of us were credited in the matter. and i would like to continue to say that it most definitely took more than 20 minutes to get the fire under control. the fire started at about 6:20am. the fire was not out until after 9:30am. and i do not consider smoke and flames as under control. and i would like to conclude with mentioning how wrong the damage the paper has considered really is. $10,000 by all means will barely scratch the surface in order to fix what once was my home for two years. the fourth and third floors were barely left with anything through out that side of the house. and as for the second floor, the apartment might as well have been put into a pool considering all of the water from 'controlling the blaze' ended up in that apartment. it not for the fire fighters caring for the apartment's belongings, there would be nothing left just due to water damage. the floor was left as an ice rink, the outlets poured with water, and icicles hung from the kitchen cabinets. so i would like to apologize now for possibly sounding rude, or abrupt, but i had to just say how upset i was by the down play of this tragedy. in no way was this fire as mere was it was made to seem by this particular article. for those that would like the true story, please feel free to contact the tenants, those who actually were involved in the incident.
