oh please, it offends you that the Levy used the term 'pig' in associatoin with an overpaid Long Island police officer? Well, perhaps if the PBA for Long Island police pull their officers away from the trough long enough to work and not rape the Long Island taxpayer for their over-compensation we can put that term to bed.

Until then, you are what you are, fat, over-paid PIGS that deserver no more respect than they give, which typically is NONE

Why is there a drinking age at all? Isn't it supposed to reflect an age at which we as a society deem a person mature enough to make the decision to drink or not themselves? If we allow that an 18-year-old we entrust with deadly weaponry and decisions in war is mature enough, then we must also concede that an 18 year old who goes to college or into business - or, for that matter, does nothing at all - is ALSO mature enough.

To use consumption of alcholic beverages as a "reward" for military service is the utlimate expression of a nanny state attempting to modify behavior through offering treats - in this case, one of the most toxic, addicting, and intoxicating substances available.

Most environmental groups are against the current site of the planned intermodal. A few pro-business groups are in favor... is anyone surprised by that? Anyone out there gullible enough to think we are going to see any price reductions at the consumer level from this intermodal, or see a truck traffic reduction in Suffolk County...I have a bridge, or maybe a tunnel, to sell you!

Hey Levy- why don't you call one of our fallen Troopers families and tell them what you have previously stated so they can blast your ass to the moon. You are the PIG!

Mr. Levy is looking out for the taxpayers of Suffolk Co.! The PBA wants to have their cake and eat it too! That won't work in these times, everyone is going to have to tighten their belts and weather this recession! These cops are/were the best paid in the country! Its not like they are poor! Give the taxpayers a break and hold the line on your demands! I know the scattergun method worked sometimes, asking for the moon and getting more than you bargained for! We taxpayers are 100% behind Levy in his quest to hold the line on spending! And the PBA'sattempt to make something out of a reference to swine and pigs was ludicris! He made an unfortunate choice of words and I am sure he didn't mean it in a derogitory way. The analigy was correct! "Pigs do get fat, Hogs get slaughtered" was by no means targeted at the PBA but shows the frustration with a union that is never satisfied!

100% of the taxpayers are not behind Levy. Going with the assumption that police are overpaid, and negotiations were heated, what part of that pigs and hogs comment is acceptable? If a student in school made that comment, they would have been suspended or expelled for making a threatening remark. Name calling and being a media hog does not show responsible leadership. There are ways to work for compromise and it seems many in postions of power do not have that skill. What a sad example for our children.

Yeah F the cops. Let them all get hurt or killed for 50$ and hour. Pigs. Maybe Levy wants to slaughter them himself? Sickening language from the top elected offical in Suffolk. Priceless.

Are letters and news articles posted, randomly, by some machine? Once again, I find something with no connection to homeschooling, tossed into the homeschooling forum. How on earth does "Topix" work ?!

Intermodal still in limbo... hoping for a final favorable resolution. Other lands are becoming available now for smaller LITRIM facilities and if they, for some reason, still want a big facility there is now enough land due to the economic crisis available adjacent to the LIE.
