When are going to get around to banning the sale of car stereo with the mega-bass subwoofers?

Haven't these ghetto blasters done enough damage already? Do we have to wait until someone is killed because these toys.

Just goes to show where Long Island is heading.

"I love the white flight...

I want to boggie...

Anywhere, but here-er-er ....."

I wonder if Long Island will burn like the city did after the white flight of the 1970's?

I know they're banned and a ticketable offense in some areas in other states. I doubt it would be too difficult to pass a local ordinance against the use of them.

Problems is that unenforced laws are ignored, and ignored laws encourage disregard for all other law. And so our nation continues to decline.

Since ballots aren't working, perhaps it is time to consider the use of more bullets.

If only. Our nation has lost its balls. It's sad when you shoot a home invader and then can get convicted for assault for defending your home and yourself. And people wonder why crime keeps increasing.

Please....if this happens again know that the cut off time for loud music is 11pm....call the cops every 15 minutes.....video tape the party from your house and bring it to the town...once you complain enough the code enforcement will come to the house. Place a formal complaint with the town, get signatures of other neighbors who are also going thru this...enough of this info and you should have enough of a case to sue the neighbor....i dont know what you will get out of it but maybe if this moron sees people around his home mean business he will remember how much it will cost him in lawyers fees to defend him!
Easier said then done, but I do agree that there are legal avenues one can pursue- such as this one. I must say however, that I live in the North side of Shirley & there are few blacks & hispanics (other then myself) and the music purely comes from the the obvious prevelant majority, which are white family homes- but I must say that after 1 call, they do turn down and in some cases shut down the music altogether. Noone likes a SCPO knocking on your door at anytime, much less with family and friends over. I must say, that we are very careful in following noise ordinances- including using the riding mower too early among other things. My neighbor does go over the top sometimes- but it is only 2 or 3 times a year, on those nights I crank the air conditioning unit on high & play soft relaxing music in the background to help fight off the sounds, and it does work for us. One of course has to exercise some form of adatpation and let neighbors have their fun, it it's only but a few nights a year. The fellow with the bango playing neighbor should of course like the other poster suggested, perhaps look for other ways of dealing with that hostility.

What's funny is that those who identify w/ the loud music victims probably either have or could easily afford much louder sound systems than their noisy neighbors. I once treated my rapping neighbors to a Blue Oyster Cult education.

While I hate noisy neighbors, half of me is just angry that I can't sleep through it. I know I can sleep during sensory-overload (e.g. friend's couch while watching TV, or at the beach in the sun), or in complete silence and darkness. So, why not in-between??

I am a noisy neighbor. I like to play my music, movies and video games late at night. I have a very inconsiderate neighbor on the other side of a paneling-wall, who's kid constantly bangs on my wall to shut me up. I used to turn my volume down when he would bang, but then he caught on to this new power, and decided to bang on the wall if he heard ANYTHING. Now, his mother has taken the habit of calling the police on me, instead of just relocating him to a different room in her apartment. Of course, the police don't ticket me or anything, because they understand my suffering...

I work nights. I refuse to live my night-time life in perfect silence for the sake of ignorant crybabies, who get up at 5 or 6AM to go start their backhoe, or pull out the hammer and nails and deprive me of much-needed sleep at 9 or 10AM. They have the arrogance to tell me that I should be up already. That I'm lazy. That I should go live in the woods. That they are well within the laws, and I am the problem. That I should get a responsible job (when I make more than they do).-If I didn't work at night to keep their phone+internet running, how would they deal with a heart-attack at midnight with no dial tone? I need sleep in order perform my job well, too. These daytime-dwellers feel righteous, starting their boats at 11AM.

To hell with night-time consideration. Screw you! I just bought a nice BIG SUBWOOFER!! HA! HA! HA!

PS. The Suffolk County 7th Precinct does not have a decibel meter (I asked when they came). Good luck on getting me to pay any fines!

I get off at 1:30AM. I'll be testing the new sound system tonight with Saving Private Ryan. All are welcome :-)

I feel really sorry about the situation. as a hispanic I just can give you one advise take them to court, a juge is the only person who may will help to solve the problem, some time my people think the are still living back in country from were they came from and law some times is the only thing that would scare them , and if with that is a fine of $2-5,000 that would hurt.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Libra

It's another day when tensions are rife and you feel stretched to breaking point. You might even totally lose your temper with someone, instead of merely snapping at them as you did yesterday. Mars stomps into reverse today, so it would be better to clear the air now with a row, and then forget all about it, rather than allowing bad feelings to accumulate and fester inside you.
