WTF??? I live on a block where there is a house full of unruley, unrespectful BLACKS who throw very loud parties, damage peoples properties and have no respect for anyone who has been living there for years...the last time we complained they didnt stop the loud thumping window shaking music until almost 2AM!!!!!! I believe the code enforcement did come by but what good will that do if charges arent filed? Something tells me they are planning another party!!

I grew up on Long Island, so I am wondering if they were not Black would you still be complaining? Noisy neighbors come in all colors. The more thing change the more they stay the same. Wow! In spite of my ID showing Brooklyn, I do live on long island (South shore, Suffolk County). My Hispicnic neighbors carried on this past weekend as follows on their back deck --(usually every weekend but this was the worst)-- 1. Loud, raucous shouting, screaming, arguing, drunken behavior, usually including young children screaming, fighting and shouting. 2. Loud, thumping Latino Salsa music blaring into other back yards (mostly mine). 3. The police were called by me (I waited until 1:00 a.m. given it was Saturday night. The dispatcher said someone would come by soon. At 2:00 a.m. I called again as there was no letup. The dispatcher said "Well, if they swing by and they don't hear any noise they are not going to knock on anyone's door". I said, well they need to come by again and listen to the noise throughout the neighborhood and get these people to quiet down. I stood down the block in my pajamas from 2:00 am to 2:45 a.m and finally the SCPD came by. The police knocked on their door and apparently spoke with the loud, drunken householder. After they left he shut his backyard light and then proceeded to loudly scream and yell (so the whole neighborhood could hear his broken English -mostly Spanish)....."This is my house, my yard, I can do what I want, no one calls the F**KN police on me...I'll call my lawyer....etc"..... He then puts his bright backyard light on, loud music back on and brings out the bongo drums - I KID YOU NOT. I finally gave up and figured he would drop in a drunken stupor, which apparently he did about 1/2 hour later. IS THIS QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ME -- THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO FALL ASLEEP AT 4:30 A.M. TO LOUD SHOUTING, MUSIC AND BONGO DRUMS ?????? What the hell are civilized AMERICANS supposed to do about this ????

Home depot moved in next to my complex and made all sorts of noise early in the morning(1am-5am) with their forklifts and cart banging that I called the police all the time. I also spoke to the manager and he put a stop to it for sometime. It started all over again and I told the manager that we(other residents)were going to video his employees and take it to the town council, that sure took care of the problem. They have been pretty good for a yr now.A good threat always works!

Seriously, does a house 2 doors away blasting music so loud it makes your windows rattle constitute a noise ordinance?
Apparently Suffolk cops in North Great River don't think so, or are too chicken to tell them to turn it down.

In response to How Loud is too Loud. Try living near a fire siren. About 10-13 yrs ago Bayport Fire Dept. installed a new siren on Middle Rd. by the Little League fields. It is so loud you have to hold your ears everytime it goes off. I had a petition with about 100 names on it and the Fire Dept. said there is no decible level for Fire sirens. Try coming by around Noon everyday. We have new neighbors moving in next month and they haven't heard it yet and they have a newborn. You can hear it in Sayville. Why can't they turn it down? It goes off the the middle of the night too! Can't even have a outdoor party around Noon!

a person in a car at 1am -2am with music thumping.just parked in front of a house i mean no respects for anyone.and the cops don,t care.you have to wait 1 hour for them to respond and what gets accomplished?there should be stiff fines if you call and cops come and noise is too loud warning first 2 times $500 each time after,i wish the town officials would put these laws in effect and the cops would actually enforce them.you know the town officials or cops would not like it if it happened where they lived.

People are fed up with the noise from these uncaring sc um bags who think the world revolves around them! The spi cks just don't know any better but the white scum bags know they should not bother their neighbors! There were cases when people went off their rocker and killed the noisey neighbor! I was chased out of Deer Park by noisey neighbors, But I wont let it happen here!

I'm not sure about the house on the other side of him (ethnicity). The neighbors next to me who abut his property (rear back yards) are also probably complaining but I have to talk them about it. I am seriously thinking of doing all the things you say but I'm not going to get support from the latinos surrounding him. Also, this is the God's honest truth, the hispic neighbor next to him just got a rooster which is now waking me up at 0600 every morning. Can someone here tell me are farm animals allowed in Suffolk county residential neighborhoods or HOW DO YOU KILL A ROOSTER ????
