When Earnie Owner of the Good Life put up the sign about how the marina would spoil the view he was correct and didn't even envision the ugly ramp.

There are no commercial shrimp boats at gulfport, long beach or the proposed Bay St. Louis harbors. They are at Ocean Springs, Biloxi Small Craft (behind hard rock)Pascagoula, Lakeshore and Pass Christian. The larger shrimp are being caught in the eastern sound btw. Best oysters are in the Pass. Commerical fisheries are a lost industry as people now use other technologies than the traditional harbor side shrimp docs. IE direct loading to 18 wheelers, quick freeze etc.

Hope this helps.

You people are stupid and must not live in the Bay. I don't care how ugly the ramp is or how much of an idiot Fillingame is I would NEVER wish a storm on our city. I lived here for Camille and Katrina and the only thing I can say is if you don't like it get the hell out of our city but DON'T YOU EVER WISH ANOTHER DAMN STORM LIKE THAT ON US! I knew Ernie very well and he was a good man but I think even he would tell you how stupid and crazy you are to wish something like that. Get out the city if you don't like what is going on. The election is coming up put a new idiot in office.

Let me educate you -the COUNCIL APPROVED the ramp not Mr. Fillingame-keep showing your anger-ask council how much ernie was paid for his right of way...i wish some attorney would investigate this hate group because the slander and accusations could be beneficial to someone---
Again--everything in the city along with other ghovernment entities has to be approved by council/alderman

This new blog is proof that complete idiots who think they are knowledgeable enough to run a city dont have ONE SINGLE CLUE about any of these projects and what the mayor or council can or can't do. The only thing bigger than your ignorance is your hatred of the fact that YOU aren't the mayor and LARGE and IN CHARGE (thank God). Do you not have any idea how OBVIOUS you are?? LOL!! If you're going to keep up the crying, try to get SOME of your facts straight first so at least you don't SOUND so much like the idiot that you are. You people are the personificaton of this quote: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt". THAT is something you really ought to give a little thought to.

BillyJoe, it shouldn't matter if you can believe it or not, all you have to know is that you DON'T know...because you don't have a clue. That's just a fact. I really can't say it any clearer. Will there come a time that you WILL have a clue? LEARN how city government works? LEARN the powers of the mayor and council? Accept the fact that you are NOT the mayor?? Will there?? Really sweetie, you should just get a life and give it a rest. Elections coming up soon enough - run for office or vote for your candidate. Until then, grow up.

The Mayor is a supporter of the Harbor but so is the Counsil. They support it because if you don't take the Harbor the money for it would go to anouther City. Ask Waveland where their Harbor money went? Bay St. Louis, Pass Christian, Gulfport all got a part of Waveland's Harbor money when they turned it down. That is the way Haley Barbor played the game and he didn't get to where he is in life by not knowing how to get what he wanted. Take it or I give it to someone else is what he said. I like fact I can buy gas for my boat at the new harbor and this is a big improvement over what we got now for all boaters.

A three-year effort to locate a luxury marina and other improvements in downtown Bay St. Louis prevailed this week when the City Council voted to spend an initial $13.3 million in federal funds for the project, expected to cost a total of about $18 million.
A crowd of about 400 people looked on and 42 members of the public lined up to voice their opinions on the subject at a special council meeting held at Bay High School Thursday night. After the meeting that lasted more than three hours, the crowd had thinned by the time of the unanimous vote to proceed.

Councilman Joey Boudin was first among council members to commit to a marina vote...
Time will tell

I think old town has never looked better. I love the way people have come together and planted all kinds of flowers all over town. If you don't like the way something looks than volunteer to make it better. I am sure the town would appreciate your efforts. Lets work together.

"with any luck a hurricane will come remove it from our community soon"

If you are not wishing for a hurricane to hit then explain. I think "wow" read your post just fine. It will take another Katrina to wipe that ramp out so yes "EarnE" you ARE wishing for a hurricane to wipe us out again. I agree MOVE if you don't like it here, but for God sake don't wish a damn storm on us.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Libra

You have a tremendous amount of nervous energy today and you need to find positive ways of expressing it, otherwise it could make you rather irritable and restless. Ideally, you should do something physical, such as going for a brisk walk, cleaning the house while working up a sweat or getting your money's worth out of the gym. Don't take out your frustrations on people who don't deserve them.
