Human contribution to "CO2 pollution" is minimal and is dwarfed by natural
causes. CO2 concentrations were MUCH HIGHER in the middle age optimum and they did not cause the oceans to die off.. Hmmm.. Here's a look at the numbers: http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/greenhouse_... Some key points: Human activites contribute slightly to greenhouse gas concentrations through farming, manufacturing, power generation, and transportation. However, these emissions are so dwarfed in comparison to emissions from natural sources we can do nothing about, that even the most costly efforts to limit human emissions would have a very small-- perhaps undetectable-- effect on global climate.(NOTE: TREMENDOUS COST FOR MINIMAL EFFECT) Just how much of the "Greenhouse Effect" is caused by human activity?- It is about 0.28%, if water vapor is taken into account-- about 5.53%, if not. This point is so crucial to the debate over global warming that how water vapor is or isn't factored into an analysis of Earth's greenhouse gases makes the difference between describing a significant human contribution to the greenhouse effect, or a negligible one. (Hint: IPCC CLIMATE MODELS IGNORE WATER VAPOR) Bottom Line: CO2 contributes about 3.6% of the total global warming impact. Humans contribute about 5% of that. If you round the number, that impact is ZERO, as it is a small decimal number at ~ one QUARTER OF A PERCENT. Based on these FACTS, why should ANYONE support major changes at HUGE COST because arrogant idiots think they should? Show by example. Don't use electricity, drive a car or eat food - Just don't expect everyone else to do the same. For myself, I generate my own power through sun and wind. IT IS INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE. I have $30K plus invested and I STILL need to run a gas generator to keep the lights on. The only crisis in global warming is the attempt to create a disasterous solution to a non-problem. |

The concert itself will be resposible for increasing the level of CO2, but it's all in a good cause, so that's OK.
