Outstanding Message.

City Hall in ANY municipality should take notice and I applaud the Police Department in Bay City.

Its also POSSIBLE that there will be shootings, stabbings, robberies and beatings even if those 5 police officers weren't layed off.

whoopee. more cops who didn't get what they want so they resort to scare tactics on the people. cutting 5 cops isn't gonna have "the grave consequences" that propaganda piece suggests.

bottom line is they know enough people will sell out everything for a sense of "safety", and they'll sure exploit that.

This is wrong! It's just another way for the authorities to "bully" the public. They have gone too far and should be removed from the force permanently. All too often I have seen the police officers do what they want, when they want while thinking they're above the law. They're no better than anyone else. This is political terrorism! Officers should be scrutinized more closely (mentally) before given a badge.
I think most were bullied in school and see a badge as a way of intimidation to get back at the world!

A simple but true billboard would be," a murder a day keeps the people away". I know sooo many people who will NOT go to downtown Cleve. at night cuz of the crime.

I am frightened, and I don't even live there!!! I live in Wickliffe, OH. I have never been more impressed with emergency and street services. I accidentally called 911 once, realized what I did, hung up and immediately called to let them know. Within a minute, there was a cop at my door. Our streets are the best in the area in the winter. I think our officers who risk their lives daily are worth a heck of alot more than a stupid roof.

These stories never mention who the "some" are who are angered. I'm sure it's liberal politicians.

The Police could never protect you to begin with. They may respond to take the report but in 95% of the cases the crime is done and the victim is just making a report. I am sorry for anyone that looses their job but between retirement, benefits and pay they make alot of money. The days of 25 yrs and out are done. Work until your 60 or 35 yrs of service. No business could afford to do what city and county gov has done for too many years. In the mean time only you can protect you, they can make a report later.

wow, It never ceases to amaze me, how the police will pray on the publics fears!!!!! I really would like for people to think about what im going to say in my next statement. THE MOB DID THINGS THE SAME WAY. They all so prayed on your fears. I have noticed that if u wear a badge 90% of them think they are above the law. And they are really rude. This job should have a cap of no more than 8 years service and then u replace them. Would really help to keep the corruption out of our law enforcement. As u can see by this add, again, they think they are above the law. And want to keep u in fear.

Yes it is kind of exploitative, but on the other hand, the city administration should be able to find another place to cut the budget, rather than safety forces. They bully the safety forces, and then the copds bully the public at large. Neither of them is right. Fact is, civil service unions are choking the municipalities, and there seems to be no short term solution.

Moron, I assume you meant prey, not pray. Your post is discounted purely on ignorance grounds although the context is quite silly as well.

Look at the bright side, that's 5 less cops scamming overtime pay. Many people are getting laid off, deal with it.

Police dont prevent crimes they only report them, rarely if ever are they at a scene to prevent them.
