Proud of Whirlpool

Newton is only 30 miles from Des Moines. There are other jobs; Des Moines is a nice sized city with lots of options for former Maytag employees. Change is not always a bad thing, and better for the brand name to stay with an American company thatn to go to Haier, a Chinese company, or LG, a Korean company, or to have Maytag bought by a private equity group that would liquidate all the assets and lay the Maytag brand name to rest forever.

I think it is irresponsible for journalists to present such a one-sided sob-story, one that will only serve to generate ill will toward Whirlpool. What was done HAD to be done.

I like the Whirlpool product lines. All my appliances and hot water heater are Whirlpool products. I don't think I'll ever buy the Korean or Chinese made ones. Cars are a different matter though.
