I was one of the members of the Statics in the olden days. Was thrilled to see us on the cover and sprinkled throughout this book. Hard to believe that we're still "celebrities" after all this time. Lots of recognizable names and groups from the Brewer area, the "doo-wop capital". Great book. If you're into rock in the early years, don't miss this one. Old time fans, take note!

Amazing book to bring back memories especially if you graduated high school from 1955 to 1965 and ever attended a Record Hop, Alan Freed Show or are just a fan of the doo wop era.
I'm from Danbury, Connecticut and sang solo in the Summer of '61 amd with a local group the Sherwoods after that.
Will Anderson is doing a great job in keeping the past and the music alive. Look for his latest project... "LOST DANBURY DOO WOP" Found By: Will Anderson an EP with lots of nostalgia from the Nutmeg State during the early to mid 1960's

Thanks Will... "Rock n' Roll" will never die!

Many items were missed in the book. To bad that more of the real influences were not mentioned or even contacted. Hopefully next time, folks such as myself, Harry King, Mo Schenk, Bill McGrath, Jack Dalton, Skip Umel, Buddy Adams, will be contacted so a book can really be complete.

Hi Ray:
This is Moppsy Davis. I'm sorry that I do not remember you maybe you were around just before me. About 25 years ago, I did contact all the members that we could as we had a Rock and Roll reunion. Dave couldn't make it from Ca, but we did have Faye, I think Claude was there too as I spoke with him over the phone. It was great. I went to Bobby King's wake yesterday, Harry Kings brother from Brewer. Harry is in Texas, writing and producing and briefly told me,(I think) his latest work for Lil Wayne just went double platinum. Hey Moppsy!! I use to hang with skip, george and stevie, billy mcgrath and the guys. Great memories from the garage. When skips dad was alive he showed me the finer art of how to get hit boxing..ha ha, I was a great study. I miss those days and the people. I moved out of bangor around 81 or 82. In Florida now (kinda whacks it) compared to Maine.I found this by accident and was startled to see names I knew. I loved those guys and the times. The world is to different a place for us old rockers although I grab the guitar out once in a while and play a little stevie ray or blues..my email is williamhodgkins820@hotmail if you run into any of the guys feel free to pass it on. Sorry to hear about Bobby, weve lost a lot over the years...take care Moppsy...bill
