After less than a day of deliberations, a jury on Friday convicted a Seaside man of murdering a fellow drug dealer during a failed robbery in 1996, but deadlocked on special allegations that would have sent him to prison for life without parole.

Judged:

I sat through two days of jury selection on the George trial. Since jury selection was made before I was called, I followed the reporting in the Herald. I was appalled by the flagrant disregard for a persons right to a fair trial by the D.A.'s office and Steve Somers. In releasing the George tape to be copied and passed around on the street makes Mr. George a target for more criminal activity whether in prison or on the street. This action taken by the District Attorneys Office makes me very wary of "Justice for All' and what kind of message does this action says about our system of "Justice"?
