I think about 10 years ago it would probably have been Dr. Jacob Holley.......his son Jeff has taken over the practice and I believe he also does the weight loss portion as his father did. You can give him a call,I can't list his number but it is in the phone directory. I hope this helps.

How about just quit eating so damn much and you will lose weight. You don't need dope to help lose weight. If you insist on dope, go buy some meth. Have you seen a meth head? They weigh about 75 pounds soakin wet.

I think Kevin Payne started it, and he passed away,so the Holley's took it over, since Kevin was married to Jeff's sister.

why do people feel the need to demean other people who ask a simple question? Did our parents not raise us to be better than that. I can assure you mine did! Speak kinder and act kinder perhaps your life will be kinder to you! Life shouldn't be about bringing others down but rather lifing them up! I hope everyone has a wonderful fourth and give thanks for the right to freedom of speech (even if they speak ill to others). GodBless America and each of you!

you should try having a lap band. that might help you lose the weight and keep it off. and some of you guys are so rude. this person asked a simple question so if you couldn't answer it without being rude then you should not have left a comment.

If some of you fat asses would learn to drive past the buffets and get your butt out and try walking some you may see a difference in your weight. I can't believe the size of the people that frequent the buffets. And to think that just by going to a doctor and nothing else a miracle will occur. Anybody can lose weight it just takes will power, something a lot in this town don't have. And take a look at your kids while you at it. Try fresh fruit as a treat instead of the Oreo cookies or ice cream. Make your kid get out and walk with you.

Boy, some people are full of insults! True, buffets never helped anyone's figure, but, I would like to also remind people that there are metabolic disorders that can affect weight.(And I bet you're thinking I am overweight- wrong! I have never been overweight except when I was expecting children, and I lost all the pregnancy weight, so I am not some overweight person making excuses!)
However, we should not be so quick to judge those that have a problem. I have had friends who had weight problems until they were finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I had the opposite- my thyroid was overactive, so I was losing too much weight.
So if there is someone who is really trying to watch what they eat, but still gaining weight, it would not hurt to get your thyroid checked. This is one of the most common,(but yet undiagnosed many times,) disorder that affects women.

Some of what you saying is true but keep in mind only a VERY SMALL percentage of obesity is caused by hypothyroidism..most overweight people say they have hypothyroidism just to justify their obesity from laziness, overeating and no exercise. People have no idea that cutting out all the soft drinks, ice cream, cookies, and candy would be a good start. I know its good and you think you got to eat it but believe me you will learn to live without it.

Everyone has their own favorite doctor, dentist, preacher, etc. Personally, I wouldn't take my child's broken doll to Dr. Holly. I know little about his medical capabilities; I very simply, dislike and disrespect him. That makes a contentious doctor/patient relationship. Dr. Swofford in Colquitt has been our primary care giver for several years. He is an excellent center figure for my husband's many specialists in Dothan and Tallahassee and pulled me through some serious illness' of my own. His nurse, Becka is aces. The staff at Miller County Hospital is also top of the line........ to us. That doesn't mean my recommendation would fare well with someone else. One doctor in D’ville fired my husband as a patient for requesting a second opinion. Choosing a physician is a road one seems to have to travel alone.

Pills, shots, and surgeries are not a solution.

Sorry that those words are unpopular, but a fact is a fact.

These procedures are DANGEROUS quick fixes designed to make money for doctors and help people be lazy. You have to take up responsibility for your own mind, body, and soul. A drug cannot change what is wrong.

Again, all of these quick fixes have negative side effects and can even cause the weight to come back even worse than before. Surgery is NOT safe just because the doctor who wants to make money TELLS you so.

Some coomon sense solutions are:

1. Exercise. Some. Every. Day.
Unless you are completely paralyzed, you can exercise. There are specific therapies for every type of disorder and difficulty. I had mobility and joint and back injury issues, so I began with low level yoga workouts. It's hard, it takes work, it takes dedication, but it is possible.

2. Eat better. Less/no caffeine, less/no sugar. Less/no nitrates and preservatives. Less/no red meat. More fresh veggies. "But that's too harddddddd!" Then stay fat, unhealthy, miserable, and die a slow and painful death. Everything in live is a choice.

Quit whining. Quit postponing. Quit playing the victim.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Scorpio

The thought of the sales is almost too good to resist today, and you'll jump at the chance to see what's on offer. Even better if you can snap up some bargains at the same time. It's certainly a good day for investing your money carefully, but make sure you aren't more seduced by the reduction in the cost of something than in the item itself. Are you certain that you want to buy it?
