On 17 August 2009, my wife was stopped by the Valdosta Police Department for having blue fog lights on her 2004 Durango. She had been stopped previously by an officer, whom I filed a complaint against for being rude and not writing her a written warning. I contacted Captain McGraw by way of filing a complaint. Great person. Bobbi and I attended the Police Academy together. Class 126. The law on the blue lights is vague and leaves a grey area. On today, I contacted Major Brian Childress, who in my opinion was totally unprofessional and did not have the common sense to listen. Code section 40-8-91, states that any vehicle used to write traffic citations must be properly marked. I.E.'VALDOSTA POLICE DEPARTMENT" on the sides as well as the back of the trunk. I only tried to advise him of the matter; however, ignorance stood in the way of a proper decision, now due to the ignorance, I will contact a lawyer and ask that all that have been written a traffic citation be refunded their money due to the illegal traffic stop. Secondly, in the state of Georgia, an officer must be in uniform and driving a marked unit before a traffic citation case can be made. I will fight this matter in court and will ask that Senators Goggins and Golden move to repeal the blue light law. I am not above the law; however, the law should not be above the law either. Childress, I had a lot of respect for you up until this morning when I found out how ignorant you are, knowing that the "Valdosta" on the sides of the doors on those white units you are operating is less that four inches in length. Valdosta P.D. will not see one penny on the fine since you have made it a conflict, which will be appealed to the State/Superior Court, which ever Lowndes County has. Also, I think you may be violating the "SLICK TOP CAR LAW. While you are at it, how about making sure that you only have one slick top unit running around with a radar unit in it. Lastly, why was my wife held on the stop for almost an hour or more? Either ticket the violators or take them to jail! It took three officers, one the Shift Sergeant, who, in my opinion, allowed his immaturity to get in the way of a smart and just decision. As a Lieutenant, I never involved myself in any of my officer decression, unless of course, I knew they were wrong. The officer that made the stop advised my wife that he was only going to give my wife a warning, but as soon as the Sergeant arrived on scene, it quickly went to a citation. Oh yeah, to cite my wife for the wheel chair ramp that was just recently placed on my vehicle due to an injury I received on March 22, 2006, in my opinion, was shitty also. I am willing to bet neither nor you, Childress included to have served this great Country of ours, but I did, by giving the U.S. Army almost 21 years of my life and these are the thanks I get for protecting each of your sorry asses as you slept in a nice warm bed and enjoyed the freedom that so many of us has taken upon ourselves to ensure that this freedom is not forsaken. Not above the law, but I have worked in corrections in the State of Florida, worked in law enforcement, rising to the rank of Lieutenant (10 years) and currently serving as a city councilman (10 years). By the way, I didn't tell you that I was diagnosed with renal cancer in June and due to have surgery at Emory in Atlanta in September to have my left kidney removed. Thanks guys for putting the generation of funding above saving lives. To each of you reading this, you be the judge. Oh yeah, please challenge GA Law 40-8-91 on the improperly marked units. Chief Simons, if you allow your officers to continue making cases, I simply say to you: "TO IGNORE AN INJUSTICE IS TO CONDONE IT." Get the units squared away.

I do not call it complaining. Do you ever hear me talking about the military? You probably aren't man enough to serve. When you are right, you are right. Read the code section, this is why it is written.

Why should he hire Rev. Rose when he is doing an outstanding job himself? He has a point and a valid one at that. You must be a bigot and racist?
