Ever since the Bishop decided to punish the shrine because he could not obtain complete control over it, their finances have been constantly examined with a fine tooth comb and nothing wrong has ever been found. Right now they are being persecuted just like Padre Pio was in his lifetime.

Lies. The ``shrine'' held illicit masses and collected the proceeds. It violated church rules and was thus thrown out.
Meanwhile, the so-called shrine gets bad ratings by non-profit web sites because of family members on the payroll and inadequate controls.
It's a little business down there that merits more scrutiny.

I never said I was an unbeliever?

I am not an overly relgious person however after my son was born with aortic stenosis several people mentioned to me the padre pio shrine which is only 45min. from my home. I took my son there and yes paid for the oil. I felt my miracle did not happen as he needed heart surgery at 4mths old. after the surgery he developed a blood clot and was transfered to the ICU. my mother in law placed the oil on his leg and within ten minutes he had a femoral pulse after two days of IV blood thinners did not work. I believe!!

Faith is the center of everything that happens to us. I liked your story Siobhan and maybe I'll get back to the shrine and see for myself what goes on there. Like I said earlier I've had my own miracles and my faith still gets questioned? Sometimes it takes a whack across the head to get back to the reality of faith.

I have seen for myself the miracle of Padre Pio. Mt neighbor was dying of 4th stage cancer and was given last rites. She did not get any medical attention and her breast was oozing with pus. I went to the St Padre Pio shrine in thr Philippines and brought home a handkerchief for this neighbor, She was dying now she is sitting and talking ro friends.

God never abandons us , even in the depths we can be in. We abandon him but he is always there if you ask .

(Men of little faith.) Does that sound formilier to you. I am here to tell you that Padre Pio even heals now from his death. My uncle told me about Padre Pio and that he was healed by him when he lived in italy when he was a child. My uncles family of friends of Padre Pios family. And for their wedding day gift they gave them the bed and pillows that belonged to Padre Pio. Since then my uncle has give me some of the feathers from the pillow I have given them to others and have seen for myself of the healing power when I prayed for my brother in law as he was on life support in the hospital they no one thought he would live when he was taken off the life support, all tests were done with no life responces. I went there and took the feathers that my uncle gave me and laid them on my brother in law. and prayed for his healing to God and Padre Pio. and not two hours later he was taken off life support and lived he came right out of it and knew his family everyone was amazed. not me I knew he would be healed. Also my uncle sent my daughter a card about Padre Pio and had a feather in it also. She had been in iraq for 18 months and when she returned home she was constenly ill with bad pains in her stomach, she went to many dr. who did many many tests and they could not find anything wrong we prayed to Padre Pio to heal her and have the doctors find what was wrong and he went to another dr. and he did. I BELEAVE AND WILL NOT STOP BELEAVING. GOD HAS SHOW US MANY MIRICLES IN THE PAST AND SOME PEOPLE JUST DID NOT BELEAVE THAT EITHER. YOU HAVE TO TRULY BELEAVE TO BE HEALED AND HELPED.
