Whoops! This is sad. Just an accident. I'm sorry for a family. I've run a stop sign or two in my day, so there's nothing to criticize, although somone will probably say the driver was on a cell phone or something.

For those of you who don't know, it's a very sad story. She's my great grandpa's sister, and the driver, was her son. The other person in the car was her grand son.

I was told this is a very dangerous intersection and the stop sign is hardly visible. The driver of this car is a very good driver and no son loves his mother more than this one does.

Not a particularly tough sign to see. The problem is the cross-roads out here look and feel the same but some have stop signs and others don't. You get used to driving one of the cross-roads that doesn't have a stop sign at Sheridan and forget that 106th does. People who drive these roads on a regular basis will still accidentally run a sign on occasion. I've lived in the vicinity for almost a year and have seen the stop signs ran numerous times, without intent. Sad for the family, especially the son. It's often harder to forgive yourself than others. I hope he's able to forgive himself, and move on. He's here for a reason.

Sheis my favorite Aunt. Always close to her and continued growing closer. She was loved greatly even by those not kin to her. So very sweet and so easy to love. Her heart was certainly true to God and we know she is happy with her friends and loved ones above. The son who was driving could not had been better to his mother. She would not want him to feel guilty so I pray he is not too hard on himself.

I am an avid cyclist and I worry about that intersection every time I cross it. Since the North and South bound traffic doesn't stop, It is imperative that the grass be kept short. It is hard to see over the grass. It would be easy to miss a car coming. I am sorry for the loss of a life. Maybe they should add a stop sign there. Why isn't that a four way stop anyway?

Now that I have spoken to several people and have read the other comments I know something should have been done to make this a safer intersection long ago. I do not know if anyone else has wrecked, been hurt or killed and if any of you do please let me know. I check these comments daily. Mary Kitchens was loved by everyone who knew her. A hugh turn out at her funeral. Her son is still in the hospital. I want to do what I can to prevent this from happening to anyone else. I know Aunt Mary is in God's loving arms now. But my heart breaks as we lost her too soon. There is a reason- I know - and maybe it is to save someone else...a child or you. God Bless
