Parktonliving.com forum is back up and running. But the Gestapo board is deleting half the posts. What are they hiding?

I know this thread is most likely long since dead, but I am interested in purchasing a house with in Parkton's subdivision. I can not however seem to get a copy of the rules and restrictions anywhere!
The website will not show any contact info since I am not already a home owner there. I have been waiting for the real estate agent to get back to my agent for some time now. Does anyone know how to go about obtaining a copy so we can determine if we want to make an offer? Thanks for any help I may get :) |

I moved into parkton about 5 yrs ago. The old board has did a better job than the one now. We tried and tries to get the rules before we closed, never happened. But just wait if you do somthing wrong per the indentures you get a nasty letter. and they seen to raise the associations fees when ever they want, or they treating to close the pool, ect...

They are a bunch of crooks who have depleted the accounts and are charging us more now to make up for it.

We run a top notch association. We have one of the best street repair and pond maintance plans in the county! I challenge each and everyone of you who have a complaint to come to the next meeting and air your differences in front of the board.

I never received a Parkton yearly fee yet. I heard they jacked the pice up $125.00. Awhile back they raised it 100.00 a year because they wanted to fix the pond. Well it had scum on it all last year after I paid out over a $1000.00 in excess fees. Now they want to raise it again. They and the county government are making it so one can afford to own a home. I can't even place and old stove or ice box out in my lawn without someone complaining about it. And a junk car in your driveway?? Forget it, they want to sue you...heheheh

Instead of paying the extra for the assessment to neglect the street repairs and opent the pool, I am going to drink a 12 pack and stand at the edge of the pool and "help them fill it up!"

When we first moved to Parkton about 8 or 9 years ago, we were told by people that we knew in the area not to buy a home here because the subdivision board is not a very well put together bunch of people. We ignored it and God I wish we hadn't. Our assessment goes up more and more each year, and to be honest, there is nothing to show for it. There are so many thing that they said they were going to do and still the ponds look like crap, the streets get patched here and there and I don't see a whole lot more. My sister lives in a subdivision where her fees are half of what we pay now and she gets trash pickup and recycling included. Something is not right here. I have contacted state officials over the last couple of months, but even though they are interested in looking into it, you know how slow bureaucrats are. So I am going to have the news station investigate them. Already called this afternoon and thought I would be put on a list to wait. Nope, they said I am the 6th person to call in for this same issue so they are getting ready to work on it now and want to interview me after the fact. We are planning to get out of this Money Pit subdivision in the next few months, so I have no problem with that. hopefully I can help all of the nice people that live there. You all deserve to have your community ran without corruption.

Oh one more thing. I had a fishing boat in my driveway for 1 week waiting for some parts to come in to fix my trailer and I received a notice that if I did not move the boat within the next 5 days, they would be towing it off my property to an impound yard. (this was in 2003 and I still have the paper) Yet I have driven through the subdivision and seen houses that have large RV's, Boats and all other types of large recreational objects and one house in particular has had a boat larger than mine, in the driveway for exactly 8mts 3 weeks and 1 day and counting. I have all of this stuff documented. When people play fair, I am your best friend. Try to cheat or be shady with me and you will wish I didn't exist.

Judged: 1 I agree with everyone on the post. I think the board is doing the best they can. They are not looking into way to increase the subdivision's revenue. The pool, basketball court, tennis court, baseball field, all that can become a good source of income to reduce association fee. They can be more creative. I am certain that there is no corruption, but I do see room for improvement. They just need guidance. I am a busy professional, thus cannot put time in to make them better. When my kids are little older, I plan to help them out. |
