Accident Kills One Person In Jefferson County

Indeed it is a sad night. When will drivers slow down and pay attention to what they are doing?
By the way in reporting the accident Criss R. said that the Toyota ran the light. No, the driver ran the light.

This was my Mom that was killed...she was a Nana 6 times over and had 3 kids and a loving husband. Her name was Mary Stevens and she will be missed....I love you mom.

I live here in Jefferson Co. And have seen many accidents at that intersection they need to put up cameras!!! I mean we spend all these taxes, they should be able to afford it! We drove by there last night and we were very saddened Its a sad tragedy!! We are very sorry for their loss! Sincerely The Willoughby Family

All I can do at the moment is sit here and shake my head. Every single day I am out, I lose count of the number of people that are driving way too fast and carelessly. In addition, there are countless people that are just "in too big a hurry" that they run red lights because heaven forbid they'd have to wait a minute for it to turn green. And I see it most often from people that are coming off exit ramps or making right turns on a red. They don't stop.

I wish there was something that could be done about these people. I don't know what it is but I wish someone could do something. I've reported many offenders and will continue to do so. So to those that pull this stuff, yes I will get your license plate number and I will pull over and call the police. Just so you know.

Saw this accident last night and it was bad-That part of 141 is very dangerous and they speed and run that light on a regular basis as this is not in the jursidiction of Arnold or Fenton and no way that the sheriff's department has the man power to constantly be on that stretch of 141. Between 21 and Astra Way is pretty much a race track at all times and I dread driving on that stretch. Yes why are all the cameras in the city limits when the accidents that are severe are on highways? Sorry for you loss

DBL ANAL BILLY...let's hope you were not in your right mind when making the comments you have made in this thread, they are cold, callous and completely out of line. I was on 141 last night at the time of this accident and it was a terrible tragedy...show some compassion for those involved and their families...or do you know what that word means? CT, I'm so, so sorry. I've known you for years, and what a horrible, awful thing to have happened to your family, especially right here at the holidays. I wish there were something I could do. But I know better. You'll be in my prayers, Sweetie. Hang in there.

I just want to say my thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I just lost my brother in a car accident recently so I know what the family is going through. Just stay strong with the Lord by your side. May God bless you through your time of sorrow.

CT is my brother-in-law and my heart aches for him, my sister, nephew and all of their families! This is truely a tragedy!!!!! Mary was so devoted to her family. I hope that you can all find some strength and comfort in knowing that she is safe in God's hands! We love you guys and are here for you always!

I work with Mary. She was a wonderful person. She would do anything for anyone with asking for anything in return. She loved her kids and her grandkids as well as her husband with all of her heart. She was so proud of her whole family. I rememeber her telling stories all the time.My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. She will be missed a lot..

Mary was a wonderful person that I had the privilege of working for, for a couple of years. I cannot believe that the next time I go to visit my former coworkers her smiling face will not be there. CT and all her family, I am so sorry for your loss. I think everyone who knew her would agree that we were all lucky to have her in our lives, even if it was cut short.

My heart goes out to Mary's family...I work at Kohl's and have worked with Mary on many projects the past few weeks and have met some of her family as well. I was so shocked and I just can't believe it's real...She will most definatly be missed by many!!!
