No. Return to Symbioland or wherever. Don't come here.
We don't have the time, resources, or patience. There's a recession, too.
Go back to Symbioland and stay.

Just because she has a family here gives her no right to want to serve her parole here.

Serve your time where you are honey and be done with it.

She served her time in prison, she paid her debt to society. She has a family and a home here, why shouldn't she be able to return to them? As long as she complies with the terms of her parole, she should be able to come home, and stay here.

Stay in CA. There's enough bad news and general worries for the great majority right now. The last thing we need is a 'celebrity' ex-con sucking the oxygen out of the media and the community.

Why do we have to have her back here? She misled all her firends right up until the very end whe she admitted to being involved in the shooting death of Myrna Opsahl. I wonder how excited her daughters are to have her back? She seemed mentally disturbed during the entire process leading up to her detention, which if I remmeber correctly, took two years or more. I suppose she'll try to pick up where she left off, as a liberal local St Paul activist for police unfairness. Go figure

Oh they will let her back here. Far too many liberals in Minnesota. They are always forgiving when it was one of them that made the mistakes and now all will be forgiven poor poor person.

Jeez! Who writes this crap and who (fails) to edit it?

1. "Former Symbionese Liberation Army member Sara Jane Olson, the St. Paul homemaker who was imprisoned for a murder committed by the radical group and attempted bombings of police cars..."

"Was imprisoned for a murder committed by the radical group?" How about, "was found guilty of murder and sentenced to prison"?

2. "Olson, 62, was released from a California state prison in March 2008 but was rearrested and spent another year in prison because of a clerical error."

"...spent another year in prison because of a clerical error"? I didn't realize you could go to prison for making a clerical error. How about "was erroneously released early as a result of a clerical error by correctional officials"?

As to the substance of the matter, I consider myself a lefty who has always had total disdain for this Olson woman.

She has NOT servered her time and paid her debt. She is still serving time on parole. Once she is completely off the books, then she can travel at will, until then, she is still a ward of the state.

A coverage question: Does the newspaper need to constantly remind us that she was active in local theater and "progressive" causes? I don't recall reading about the hobbies of other criminals in similar reports. She's not news because of her "progressive" activism or theater participation. She's news because she assisted in murder and was a fugitive for so many years.

I just want to make sure people see what you posted, as your post is not long for this thread. What a tasteless, necrophiliac thing to say. You should be ashamed.

The lefties will celebrate her return as if she were caesar returning from military conquest. She will be feted by the beautiful people and be the subject of countless, breathlessly admiring newspaper articles. She will make hundreds of thousands giving speeches to progressives, and be made a full professor of political science at the U of M.

They are waiting for the thought leaders to tell them what to think and say about the subject. For obvious reasons, they are reluctant to post until they have received their instructions.

Alright, she has not quite finished paying her debt, she is also not asking to be able to just go anywhere she wants anytime she wants either. She made a request to be able to serve the rest of the debt (parole) here, where her family is.

From the article: Corrections officials in CA and MN are reviewing the request. If approved, Olson would be part of CA's caseload and under the state's jurisdiction, but MN would monitor, supervise, and provide parole services for her.

If the request is approved by both CA and MN, and she complies with the terms of parole, whatever they are, why should she not be allowed to come home and reunite with her family?

Although not by her own hand, someone died because of her actions. And if they were sucessful, a whole mess of cops would be dead too. I don't care how much time has passed, how much time she served, or how "she led a good life" under her alias. She is the scum of the earth and should spend the rest of her life behind bars.
