The story and what the Irene Wortham center does is more important than "people first language skills".

Have you been to the Irene Wortham Center? Try asking for a visit and donating time to talk with
these children. If you have a heart (which I doubt) you will hurt inside for a long time.

You are right. I know of no other place that has a more compassionate and caring staff. They're my favorite non-profit.

Lawrence,

I said I was leaving that "thread" forever, not the forum, and that my friends and generally nice folks can find me on other threads.

Are you trying to be a "nice folk"?

Lawrence. The Irene Wortham Center is too special of a cause and performs to much good for you or me to soil this thread. Let's agree to let IWC have its well deserved time in the spot light and carry any personal discussion we may have to some innocuous thread.

Eliada Home provides the same care, if not better...
they do keep the orpaned children to themselves, which is a good thing, those kids got enough going on...
Sorry Larry, once again you are wrong.

IWC specializes in working with developmentally disabled kids and young adults. Eliada home is also an excellent program that helps orphaned and other children that for a variety of reasons can't live at home. Both facilities are excellent but the the type of care provided at IWC is very different, and I believe more difficult, because of the multitude of problems some of their patients have.

If you had read my comment, I asked "Where is ACT's people first language skills".

I do have a heart, I have visited their center, and do appreciate the work that they do.

Don't be so soon to "jump" before reading.
