<quoted text> It is beyond me why people are so weak that they let alcohol and drugs ruin their lives. With what I have been through, I didn't turn to alcohol or drugs. I guess the people who do are just weak and don't have faith in the Lord. Sorry to say but I can not stand an alcoholic or drug addict. There is no sense in it. I stay away from them.
A person does not know if they have an "addicted
personality."

Drugs, especially have a way to hook and sink a person real fast.

In other departments, of addicted personality, it is known as OCD, Obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The type A is addictive. Just look around at the people today with the latest cell phone, iPods,
laptops, and anything else that they can carry while on a lunch break.

I guess, according to the coroner's report, that this guy would have died just sitting there in the police station?
Why aren't the cops being charged with murder?
How can you possible justify tasering a man in handcuffs. This is police brutality, plain and simple.
This man would have died wherever he was sitting, hence "excited delirium".

Utilizing the TASER as a pain-compliance method is a normal procedure. Individuals can be just as uncontrollable in handcuffs as they are without handcuffs.

The number of useless posts here are astounding.
Why can't people be charged with gross ignorance?

Thats right,,,,go ahead and blame the cops, thats the easy way to do it.

Put the blame on his drug abuse, where it really belongs.

Next time you're in trouble,to heck with the cops, call a drug user.

Another genius speaks!

By "they", are you referring to alien invaders, spirits from the underworld, the voices in his head, or some other unknown force?

Ok, a man is arrested and handcuffed, because he is not cooperating, later to find out he has epilepsy... later being...after he is dead from being handcuffed in a cell and having GM seizures so severe he busted his head open and died....now...you tell me....who gets the blame? The man with a condition he can not control? Or the police dept? Now, a man is arrested and handcuffed, because he is not cooperating, being combative, and for some "ignorant" reason, shocking the "s**T out of him seems to be a good idea, later to find out he has a heart condition, a drug addiction, which he can not control...who is to blame????

“excited delirium”- give me a break. Who comes up with these names?

I wonder of they would of used the same terminology to describe someone that dies while high on prescription drugs?

my answer....the police depatrtment, when this happens they should be shackled to protect themselves and those around them and taken to the ER so they can come down from what they are on or get what they need...I have not met a police officer that is an EMT as well.....they have no business deciding these things....(and I am the daughter and granddaughter of two retired officers.

My delirium likes a little excitment now and then. But like you, I didn't know it could kill me.
Let's make sure our deliriums don't ever become excited at the same time

it amazes me that the police are such big bad dudes that they wait until the guy is handcuffed and then beat and tasar him. Why don't one of those bad****s do their dirty work before the guy is tasared, handcuffed and incapacitated?? Were they afraid that he was going to rip the handcuffs off and hurt them? If not then why tasar him SIX times while handcuffed???????? This is why the average guy on the street has no respect for law enforcement. They are too often thugs who cannot control themselves from violence. If anyone else in our society used and operated in this type of mentality and brutality, they would be put UNDER the jail. But for them it is just fine? By the way, no government employed doctor/coroner is going to admit that government paid cops killed anyone. Forget that. They will cover their rear ends every time.

Don't generalize, it's ignorant. Why do you think cops are full of sh*t? Do you know how much crap they have to deal with? Drug addicts, drunks, criminals. Maybe if that man didn't have so much junk in his system he wouldn't have been tased. If you are not in law enforcement and have never arrested someone for disorderly conduct that tried to bite and kick you while they were handcuffed than you really shouldn't be putting your two cents in, should you?
If any person can't control their anger while performing their duties, then it is time to get a different job. The only reason cops don't try to keep their anger in check is because they know they can get by with whatever crimes they commit. Being agitated by others actions does not give anyone, in any job, a license to kill.

This was a suicide by cop case, it has all the classic indicators. The man knew the fight was over, he was in handcuffs, but he was intent on killing himself and was such a coward he pressed the deputies to push him over the edge.

The man was unhealthy and his body just couldn't take the stress anymore and he buckled. The police just happened to be witnesses.

Nope, you're wrong. It was suicide by cop. The thing is, the man died and the cops just happened to be witnesses. No negligence here, just another scumbag removed from this planet.

This man played hard and died soft.
