What would you do? If your son told you he was gay?

I would like to know, what you would say, do and how you feel if your 22 year old son said he was gay? NO names please. Lets NOT dog anyone.

i have a son and if he came home and told me he was gay i would love and support him. my best friend was gay and he was the funniest most loving person i knew. i firmly beleive that it is not a choice cause as my friend used to say...why would anybody chose to be ridiculed for who they are....not a choice any sane person would make. i love my son and there is nothing he can say or do to change that. i would continue to stand beside him no matter what and i hope all parents just love their kids and just know they raised them right. love and support is all you can do.

I wouldn't treat my son any different. I would love him the same. And wish him the best in the world. He's my son I could never turn my back on my own flesh and blood. We are all human, and if being in love with someone of the same sex made him happy then so be it.. I would welcome him and his partners with open arms.

If you truly love your son, you will except and continue to love him..We are supose to love our children unconditionally. How could any parent say I love you ONLY if your straight. I agree with "understanding" I don't believe it's a choice someone can make, you either are or aren't.

I would still live him because God gave him to me, but I also know what the bible says about homosexuality not only that but adultry, fornication, God made man and women to be untied as one, it's truly a touch subject.

adam and eve not adam and steve or eve and marie i wont hate him but would try to show him another woman it sounds like he got hold of a bad one

You love your children no matter what. If either of my sons told me that, I would love him unconditionally. You can't say it has been the women they were with. That has nothing to do with it. You love who you love.

you can say he got a hold of a bad woman all you want to but think real hard for me before you post back....your obviosly straight so if i said to u well u need to try a man cause u just had a bad experince with one .....how would u feel especially coming from one of your parents who are supposed to support you no matter what? i will refer to my best friend again (hes now deceased so i wont use his name) i asked him once if he had been with a women and his answer was yes even though he already knew he was gay he tried it and said it disgusted him cause women have parts that do not turn him on once again your born how you are born and the bible has been written over and over im sure some things got lost or changed in the translations

I belive it would be diffcult at first to handle for many reasons such as others that are strongly against it as far as loving my son i always would and i'd be thankful he belived in me enough to tell me this and i would have to work threw my own feelings and never make him feel like hes less of a person by being gay because all people are differnt and thats what makes us who we are.

After picking myself up off the ground upon hearing this, I'm sure I would still love my son. Support him???? I don't think I would go so far to say that but I would still love him. Even though I'd love him, honestly it would embarass and/or shame me. I realize I'll get flamed for saying that but I do think I'd feel that way. Honestly, I think most would...they just wouldn't admit to it openly.

I just recently went through this with my sister. Although I love my sister, I will not be a part of her life. I believe it is a sin against God. You can still love a person and not be involved with the lifestyle they choose to lead. When she firt came out, my son asked how can she go to church and still live in a great sin. He, himself, said that he didn't want anything to do with it.

thats your decision and im sure it was a hard one but to end all contact seems harsh to me but as long as you can live with your choice i guess thats all that matters but your sister must feel such pain and everyone has there own beliefs about God to me no offense theres people who commit much worse against God just my opion.
