This is a no brainer. Jodie Haydon, hands down. It's too bad we have to even spend money on a special election.

I'll vote for the one that is NOT an attorney.

Biography
Higdon
Born July 15, 1953. Mechant-Higdon?s Foodtown. Catholic. Morehead State Univ, BS. US Army Reserve. Marion Co Economic Development Board. KY Grocers Assoc Board. Lebanon-Marion Co Industrial Foundation Board. Mid-South Retail Group, former Board Member. Super Foods, former Board Member. Lebanon Little League Football, former Board Member. Lebanon Housing Authority, former Board Member. KY Junior Miss, former Board Member. Lebanon-Springfield Airport, former Board Member. Marion Co Chamber of Commerce, former Board Member.

Taken from the CJ

Haydon’s campaign received at least $9,500 in contributions from directors and officers of Churchill Downs and their family members. Churchill and other horse racing interests are pushing for a bill to legalize video slot machines at race tracks. Haydon supports the idea, while Higdon voted against such a bill it when it was considered by the House in a June special session.

I think I will go with Haydon

You support gambling? I'm surprised Paladin! This is a tried and true example of the saying "the rich get richer while the poor poorer". Especially now when people are losing jobs and desperate for money. What do you think will happen? My guess is, more desperate and poor people will steal from other people to take a chance to make more money. Then they think they can win all the time. This brings on the addiction therfore more theft and cheating. Kentucky needs to be strong and stand up for what is right. We may have some hard times ahead but when it is all said and done the money will come to us because all of those people that "have" something will want to be where there is no theft, cheating, and other desperate measures taken in order to "make it".
My only fear is that it is all around our border states now, so I guess you can say "we are surrounded"!
I still think we need to stick with doing it the right way and steer clear of any of the 7 deadly sins if we want to survive this downturn.

I haven't thought of it this way. I just want to make sure the horse industry stays strong in Kentucky.
You do bring the moral side of things into it though. Makes you wonder if the slot machines will really help or make the economy worse.

If people want to gamble, they will do so - Ky. or Ind. where ever they choose, so why not keep the money right here in Ky.

Personally I dont think this economic down turn has to with sins at all, the monetary system has had a weak foundation for almost 100 years the federal reserve is the root of the problem. Making money out of thin air compared to a slight set back caused by too many loans is like comparing driving over a cliff verses hitting a pothole, if we truly wanna get rid of this problem we need to bring value back to the dollar, and not worry about religious doctrines. Also if we legalized marijuana it would give the people not only more jobs but it would create an amazing industry for KY to thrive off of, in various areas.

Im not trying to say there is anything wrong with your religion I just think it shouldn't have any place in politics as the founding fathers intended.

I think making it closer would make it handier. I know of several ruined people since Ceasers came to Ind. One lady lost her job at Ford and her home. If it hadn't been so close she might not have traveled . I have nothing against gambling ,I like the slots but the people that lose usually are the ones who can afford it the least,

He treated all the employees like new hires. He took away their vacation and their insurance didn't start again for 3 months and reduced their pay.

I don't gamble :)Besides the people that want to gamble are taking their money across the river where it does Kentucky no good at all. I think they should take 4th street in louisville cover the street from broadway to the river with a roof and put casinos from one end to the other.

This is for a special election only between Higdon and Haydon to recieve Dan Kelly's senate seat. It is totally seperate from the 2010 senate elections, and will be held December 8th.

Although you're still feeling sociable and outgoing, the Solstice brings the need for a little time to yourself now and then. It's time to temper your busy social life with some precious moments of solitude. Make sure you do, as this need is something important and life-enhancing. It will certainly recharge your inner batteries, which might be a little run down.
