Wow, I would loved to have been down wind from that landfill when they burned all of that weed. Bet there were a lot of extra hungry
folks that day Tucumcari.

Instead of burning I would like to know why they don't put it through a shreddar on the spot but instead they wait until its fully grown and then crop it at the base of the plant.

on a serious note.

it is really sad that these people and their families will be caused so much pain for doing something harmless. people are dying, lives are falling apart for all this. these guys weren't doing anything bad. they weren't robbing banks or murdering people. they weren't molesting children. yet they'll sit in prison and be ostracised from society for it. we need to seriously reconsider whether or not this is truly a problem. the only problem i see is that it is illegal.

What with the new medical pot law why burn it, why not have the state sell it with the prescriptions doctors give to those in need?

2 Million dollars more the state could have had and they simple let it go UP IN SMOKE.

DUMB thing to do but worst is whoever turned them in waited till harvest time to do so.

Sounds like one of the group was being cut out of the profits so gets back a the others.

Hmm... well, obviously some people haven't been in wrecks where the driver was stoned. For some of us who have, I think if they're going to legalize marijuana nationally, they need to regulate it the same way that they do alcohol. It impairs your vision, depth perception and judgment the same way alcohol does. Until they find some way to test people on the spot, I can't be okay with it. There are too many people that I know who drive high and having been in a car that was wrecked due to a stoned driver, I'm not too keen on the concept myself.

no. marijuana does not impair you the same way alcohol does. besides, other things impair drivers and sober people get in accidents all the time. i see at least two accidents every morning from people just on their way to work. perhaps they're impaired by a lack of sleep? or they're on their cell phone? will we be making insomnia illegal or cell phones? i have seen many MANY people drive like maniacs when they're sober.

but anyway, there's no evidence to support that these growers drove stoned. they were merely growing. and if they have "no brains left" like geez said, then does that mean they should go to prison?
