In the next verse David publickly prayes to raise God up.

It is clear and evident that we are to pray for other people in the presence of others .
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
I would say openly responding to the request for prayer and is far greater way to glorify God than openly admiting you smoke dope daily ? How does this magify the Lord ?

A paragraph is more than txt as you call it , prayer is a heartfelt desire that others are made well , It is picking up and carrying the weak and seeking God for them that they are delivered their needs.
Prayer is speaking to God .. I am not ashamed to seek God , when prayer is requested here on this forum someone is expressing a need. We respond according to the Holy Spirit and what He puts in our hearts , we follow the will of Him in all we do.
