Went there today and saw that it was closed. There is a sign in the window "For Lease" so it looks like it won't be reopening. Very dissappointted. Sent email to CiCi's asking why.

I worked there for a long time. The owner didn't pay the rent in that building for a good two years. I also do not believe he owned it when it closed down, he owes some other guy 200,00. He was forced to sell it because of financial reasons I believe. He was pretty much a big dumb ass who tried to rip you off anyways, hope his financial problems continue in the same direction as they are now. He was known on MANY occasions to take the child support out of the dads checks for months, but was not sending it to the mothers. You really had to keep track of your hours there too, he was good about shorting your paycheck. Also, he would make us use the NASTIEST expired meats/dressings so we didn't have to throw them out. Its a wander the health department didn't shut us down beforehand. Anyways, his name is Mark Wilson, and he is pretty much a huge POS. He wouldn't even let us open up the first aid kit when we needed a bandaid, because he would have to buy another one. And yes, there was absolutly no notice. He did it to all of his other stores, so idk why any of us were surprised. Neat fact, the day before he was supposed to close his Beckley store, a car conveniently ran through the building, leaving him with the insurance check.

I have heard rumors from other employees that someone else bought the franchise and is reopening it, after remodeling. Who knows though, everyone was told a different story.

Owner is in financhial trouble but the reason it was shut down was for failing health department requirements on numerous occasions..amd for not replacing faulty/dangerous equipment.

There's some truth and some not so truths here. Yes they did close for financial reasons but Mark was not a bad person. The man would give you the short off his back and a good Christian man. Did he make mistakes, yes both business and personal decisions. Sometimes he was worried a little about status and materialisms but he was a great person who cared for his people. He took over buying barboursville and beckley. He was given a deal from Cici's too bail out the previous ownerships mess. He later found out they were filing bankruptcy leavin him with some of the bills. That combined with some bad business decisions from the Beckley general manager led too all of this. There was never major health issues or anything no more than usual at restaurants. Yes in the end he was stressed and penny pinching. But imagine being in your 20's owning a major business and having your family's well being and roof over theyre head dependent on it and out of no fault of yours your stuck with major financial burdens. No excuses he did make some bad choices in the end but as a person Mark was a great person.

I'm not gonna get involved with the rumors of what happened and what didnt. There was financial reasons personal too Mark and his family and that is why it was in his best decision too back out. Mark was a very devout Christian. What he's went through is between him God and his family. I wish him the best and hope in ways this has brought him even closer too God.
