In short the county council added the idea of casino gambling at the last minute, which means only one person would show up to discuss it. Was that person hand picked to influence their dicision? Yes. They find somebody, that would be willing to speak for any baptist church in Volusia, or an organization that's pre-opposed to the idea and they promise the public that they can speak on the mater at a later date. The council will not allow for added revenue- this would mean an examination of tax records, all the tax money is being poured into ridiculous ideas like the Main Street advisory board. Theresa Doan is a member of the board. The only concern is with anything between Orca Avenue & Harvey Avenue, because that is the lack of progress zone that steals tax money. Including 'BIKE EVENTS" that some Daytona Beach residents want- because they have accepted that its all they can have. It's all they can have because of these last minute no discussion/ no ideas - we're not sure- bad excuse agendas. The want bike events to be extended, thats it nothing else.

Volusia county is loaded with welfare slugs, slot machines are a great way to get money back to the taxpayers from the moochers.

Unforturately Daytona is resting on it's reputation of not being business friendly..at this point. The Journal wrote a half baked story [or an other half baked story] about how many homeless people are in Volusia/Flagler. No follow up no numbers- no accuate information. Slot machines would help to a degree- but Daytona has a serious image problem. If you go to the beach..you could get run over, or sexually harrassed by a beach employee... If you go to a bike event, be careful they're cracki'n down on noise complaints. Last october-- Mark Criswell a city offical thats just sad. Get rid of all the bad elements the government will just steal more money if slots create revenue. Daytona needs new ideas...a vision. Somebody that believes it will work!!!

Greyhound won't be building a bus station on Beville. They want to build it next to the airport. Lesa France Kennedy won't mind that idea. It sounds possible we'll see.
