I don't know if the first responders have purchased a new property or not yet. But the idea of teaming up with the school and utilizing the old high school property should not be ignored. The gym part of the school is functional, the rest is not. I think you should consider possibly building a combination building that could house the first responders, maybe a new town hall and even a community center on to the old gym. It could work out well for everyone. I don't know what is going to be in the new stimulus package, but there might be funding available that would make it a option to consider. Please at least look in to the possiblity.

Building in conjunction with the old school, especailly, if put together as a community center would save money by combining efforts and sharing the heating/utilites. Fund rasing should be easier as it would be something, along with protecting us, the whole community could enjoy and it would still provide the access to the gym and grounds for sports and other activities.

On that same note, if it were ever possible it would make sense to have 14th avenue [the street that goes along the front of the old high school] contect to commercial street, adding a another [or moving the existing] railroad crossing over one street to the east. The schools are the destination that has the most traffic daily, and it woud make sense for it to be the most efficent route.

I urge the people in charge to at least meet and consider the options.
