not me! the concept of school spirit is a joke.

high school is supposed to be a place to learn the curriculum being taught and NOTHING ELSE. but it's been glamorized and disneyfied with so many weird rituals. kids need to learn that there's more to life than just school.

if kids want to play sports, they can join a league. if they want to join a club, it can be outside of school.

it would be a good thing if kids were to show up at school during homecoming week, especially on the day of the game, decked out for the other school's team. and not just at school, but also wingstreet, which is just across the street from the school and is decorated with a south haven jersey, and any restaurant where the window is painted for homecoming.

Well, everyome else is ready for football.
Over and over again all you do pal is just show how of step you are with the world and society.

I'll bet you had no friends in school, possibly none now. why do you think that is?

And if you was a caring parent..which I'm SURE your not, you would understand how important it is for kids to have SCHOOL sports. And it IS a learning experience!Kids learn lots from SCHOOL sports! I bet you every penny I have in savings that you have NEVER played any sports in school...or have any Grandkids or kids that have. I honestly can't believe,by the way you talk, that you even have ever had childern!! Casn you ansewr that? Have you raised any kids? I bet no....I I sure feel sorry for them if you have.

First of all, that is dumb. School sports such as competing against other schools like varsity football track, or intramural sports are played always after school hours. What is so wrong with that? It is organized, supervised, has an emphasis on sportsmanship and team play. It also brings the community together as spectators and does nothing but enhance school spirit and loyalty Your arguement is worthless, for the long proven redeeming value far outways your clucking.

if i did have kids, i WOULD let them play SCHOOL sports (if they wanted to). i'd agree to disagree.

but if they wanted to protest school spirit by getting decked out in the school colors of the other school during homecoming, i'd let them do that, too.

kids can learn just as much from league sports as from school sports.

kids need to learn that there's more to life than just school. and that there IS life after graduation.

school sports just makes high school into a snow globe.

there's no need for SCHOOL sports for all these things. all of this can be in sports OUTSIDE of school.

Your arguement is very stupid and does not at all adresss why sports outside of school would be better. Your arguement just makes a statement with no substantial facts. Most of your statements fall into what I would call clucking. I believe that your favorite sport is hand wringing.

for high schoolers, school shouldn't be their whole life. school should be academics and NOTHING MORE. anything beyond academics is arrogance, cliques, and snobs.

high schoolers need to get a foot into the REAL world. that's why they need to GET A JOB. a job is more important than sports and clubs and organizations.

south haven had their homecoming this past weekend. hope they lost.

for those students who rooted for the other school, good for them. for those who didn't, it's something to think about for next year.

Daily Horoscope for December 18

Aries

You'll be in a better position to get on well with someone who has power or authority over you. This might be your boss, some other authority figure, a friend you really respect or an older relative. Maybe you should chat up your superiors at the office Christmas party... or make more of an effort to understand what makes a certain person tick.
