Four people convicted in 'mega' medical marijuana scam sentenced
The real "marijuana scam" is the notion that people should be punished because of laws based on absurd racist fictions—
"Marihuana influences Negroes to look at white people in the eye, step on white men's shadows and look at a white woman twice." (Hearst newspapers nationwide, 1934)
"There are 100,000 total marijuana smokers in the U.S., and most are Negroes, Hispanics, Filipinos and entertainers. Their Satanic music, jazz and swing, result from marijuana use. This marijuana can cause white women to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers and any others."
"...the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races"
- Federal Bureau of Narcotics Director Harry J. Anslinger, 1930
"Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality and death."
"Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind."
"[Smoking] one [marihuana] cigarette might develop a homicidal mania, probably to kill his brother." (see US Government Propaganda To Outlaw Marijuana - http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/hemp/taxa... )
The drug crusaders have no valid reasons for enforcing pot laws. They are liars who should never hold office or carry a badge.

Just your basic capitalistic money making scheme, no suffering "patients" here. Alright, give them a pass on the dope and throw them in the federal pen for tax evasion.

It was good enough for Capone.

I am curious how you might describe the privatized prison industry in our country...

I'm not a big fan of completely privatizing all aspects of goverment, but if they can offer better services at a better rate then the government then I think that we should at least look at it, and maybe learn from it. Minimun security of course. Look at the coruption and resulting political flap over wages/packages for California Correction Officers.

I'm aware that you are one of the few and true that benefit from "compasionate use" under 215, but siding with these profiteers doesn't help the argument.

The profiteers that run BevMo and Wallgreens get nothing but praise for their community service?

Prohibition brings out the worst in all involved...

Unless these perps ripped somebody off or dealt contaminated product-- no harm no foul in my book.

Austin Police Department investigators arrested a suspect Friday who admitted to shooting recent UT graduates John Goosey and Stacey Barnett in connection with a drug-related dispute in West Campus last week, officials said.
Police obtained a warrant for 19-year old James Richard “Ricky” Thompson after receiving an anonymous tip and viewing the victims’ phone records. Thompson faces capital murder charges and is in custody at the Travis County Jail without bail, police said. Police indicated that the arrest is part of an ongoing investigation.
“One of the key pieces to this has been the input that we have received through our continued requests to the public for assistance in this case,” said Lt. Mark Spangler of APD’s violent crime unit. Spangler said investigators believe Goosey was killed in connection to the sale and distribution of a significant amount of marijuana in Austin.
Police suspect that Goosey distributed marijuana to other dealers, who sold to local consumers. Detectives said they believe Goosey had supplied Thompson with marijuana and was waiting to be paid back.
“The unfortunate part of this crime is that John Goosey was involved in the selling of pot here in Austin,” Spangler said.“He was owed a substantial sum of money by Ricky Thompson, and it’s our belief that Ricky Thompson wound up being left, in his own mind, with no other option but to kill that person he owed money to.”

Marijuana use is much more dangerous that believed and hundreds of young people die each year in "accidents" caused by their prolonged use of the drug, according to Britain's most senior coroner.
Hamish Turner, the president of the Coroners' Society, told The Telegraph that the marijuana, often portrayed as harmless, has increasingly been the cause of deaths that have been reported as accidents or suicides.

"Cannabis is as dangerous as any other drug and people must understand that it kills," said Mr Turner. "From my long experience I can say that it is a very dangerous substance. Increasingly it is mentioned not only as the first drug taken by people who overdose, but also in suicides and accidental deaths.

"It is an awful waste of young lives. People are trying the drug at a very young age. Many go on to harder drugs and I am dealing with more and more heroin overdoses. People can also suffer severe consequences from the cannabis alone, however.

"Bereaved parents say to me,'We didn't realise how dangerous it was until it was too late, if only we had done something'. It is heartbreaking."

Turner said that stronger varieties of cannabis are now common, leading to physical and mental problems in young people, compared to the pot that was available in the 1960s.

Let freedom ring tweaker. There will be no problems when our country can grow pot, coca, and heroin out in public.

Thousands of Peruvian coca farmers have marched into the country's capital, Lima, demanding the government ends restrictions on growing the cash crop, which is used to make cocaine.
The demonstrators, who have travelled for over a week on foot from jungle areas where coca leaf is grown, are also demanding their jailed leader is freed.

The protest is part of an on-going battle between coca growers and the government, which wants farmers to grow other crops in its efforts to crack down on drug trafficking.

Last month Peru's coca growers suspended highway blockades and protests while the government worked on a new anti-drugs policy.

In the latest protest, farmers marched with flags and banners towards the presidential palace.

Are you completely stoned? Go ahead you moron make all drugs legal and all crime will stop hahaha. I guess since oil is legal all wars for oil must have stopped in the last century, eh Einstein? yeah go smoke a big fatone fathead:

Cocaine Trade Helps Rebels Reignite War in Peru

CANAYRE, Peru — First the soldiers came to Río Seco, a coca-growing village in the lush mountain jungles of southern Peru.“They called us subversives and they opened fire,” said Benedicto Cóndor, 55, a coca farmer. They shot dead four people at close range, including a woman who was five months pregnant, witnesses said. Two children, ages 6 and 1, disappeared and are believed dead.

Four months later, the guerrillas arrived, accusing the villagers of helping the military. They abducted the village leader, who has not been seen since.

The harrowing tales of violence trickling out of the jungle as dozens of families have fled their villages in recent months raise an ominous specter: a brutal war that terrorized the country for two decades may be sparking back to life.

The war against the Shining Path rebels, which took nearly 70,000 lives, supposedly ended in 2000.

Gag on this: The 21st amendment put the likes of Machine gun Kelly and Al Capone OUT of business.

Making contraband more valuable is likely to make it go away?

What are YOU smoking?

Make it legal. If it was legal like oil, there would never be a war over it's profits.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Cancer

You've had enough time to yourself lately. This is a day to focus on family, with all the good and bad that that brings. Crabs would much rather be at the top of the tree than down near the roots, but that's life. You might be smart when it comes to matters of the heart, but you don't know it all quite yet.
