so i have a story for you guys. so my uncle sister and her 3 friends went to lotties grave right. now remember there are 4 people going up to the grave. now 3 of her friends pissed on the grave. when they were walking back to the car all 3 of them felt like there back hurt. so they all checked eachothers backs out and they had long finger nails marks on there back. then 19 months later all 3 of them died with in those 19 months.
also about her house....
my uncle the same guy his uncle rented out lotties grave for like 20 yrs. rented it from lotties sister. everything was kept the same all the same clothes were in there everything. now lottie was hung in her house. on the way to the attic i believe. my uncle and his friend they both went up to the attic. they found all of this old stuff. they also found this box. and a whole bunch of old newpapers from the 1800's. well they opened the box and there were 2 long brads of hair. when they saw that they got scared ran down stairs and the down slamed so hard behind them and they just left. whaile they were leaveing my uncles friends breaks were going out in his truck when they were perfectly fine when he got there. now the next day they went back and the door to the attic was wired shutt. man they were so scared when they were telling me that story. but now they buldozed the house down and rebulit a house over the same spot. i dont know were the house is but all i know some where where the grave is there is a white fence and thats where the house is that they rebult it at.

This is one of those stories that gets started somehow and never goes away, even though there is not a shred of truth in it. Lottie Edwards is buried at Taylor Cemetery, rural Homer. The grave is plainly marked with a stone, born 1878 died 1955. 1955 ! Stories make it sound like she was living in the woods with the Indians or something. To this day people are always leaving pop or beer cans on the stone like the idiots they are.

Today I went to check out the grave of Lottie Edwards. Taylor Cemetery is a quiet cemetery on a hill in the country not far from Homer, NE. There is nothing scary or strange about Lottie Edward's grave, other then it is in need of repair as the tomb stone is starting to sink. I agree with one other post on this site, it was a good drinking spot where friends scared each other. RIP Lottie Edwards.

Rob: thanks for the story...quite a deal...had an experience once with a friend when we seemed to touch on the paranormal...
Rob wrote:
ATTENTION, the following is actually part 1-A which did not load in the proper order...sorry....please bear with this....
There is a main highway that comes from Sioux City to Homer, I believe it is US-75. As we got to the small town, there were only two prominent structures on the highway. On the right, the west side, was a bar and grille and on the opposite side was a service station.
We drove into the small village, and tried to find the cemetery. We had no luck. We figured John’s directions were wrong in that he had not lived there in years.
As we gave up, we went by the two buildings on the highway. Allan said,“C’mon, let’s ask someone about it.”
I didn’t want to have anything to do with it. I thought we would look like complete idiots, but Allan persisted, and we parked at the bar and grille and walked across the highway to ask at the filling station.
All I remember is that the place was a mess. The floor was covered in old rags, but then, I noticed the oddest thing…..there was an older man in a chair with a baseball cap on sitting the back room watching a color TV……please recall that a color TV of any sort was a pretty big deal in 1969…..just very out of place.
Allan walked up to him, and asked if he had ever heard of Lottie’s Grave.
This is exactly when everything got strange.
My impression at the time is that the man visibly shook, tensed up, and stared at the floor for the rest of the conversation.
“No, no, no,” he said.
“There ain’t no such thing as that, nowhere around here, so I can’t help you.”
We said thanks, anyway and walked back across the road to the car.
Allan then said,“Let’s go ask inside this restaurant.”
Again, I had had enough of all of this, but Allan was already in the door.
We were in the bar section, and Allan spotted a somewhat overweight waitress. There were maybe six or so other people there and a guy cleaning some shot glasses at the bar. Allan walked up to the waitress and asked her about the Grave……
Again, in now what I clearly remember like feeling I was in an episode of “The Twilight Zone”, the girl reacted, and stated way too many times that not only did she not know any directions, but she had never heard of such a thing. It was what I noticed that troubled me.
Every person’s eyes in the bar were on us. It was like the sound stopped. The air was sucked out.

I lived all my life in Sioux City, and of course, have been to Lottie's Grave. I've heard some of the legends about her, being a witch, haunting those that try to hurt her burial site, the lady in white, the creeky bridge, etc. By the way, the creeky bridge is gone! I don't know if it's been replaced or not yet though. I went out there once in broad daylight, and the only strange thing that happened was that I was leaning on the brick structure to the entrance of the cemetary, and my finger was lifted and released by itself! I went with a friend of mine at dark, and we didn't see any 'ghosts' walking around, but we happened to both look in my back seat at my son's carseat, and saw a baby sitting there, that we sure didn't bring with us!!!! I have also taken a drive over the creeky/whining bridge with my 2 dogs at the time (full grown German Shorthair and a full grown German Shepherd), and they both went nuts from seeing/feeling something that I didn't see or feel. Freaked me out to no end. I don't necessarily enjoy going out there, but I have gone. I also have walked up into the cemetary and have seen her headstone. It is in need of repair, as it's weathered from the elements, and also looks quite broken or chipped, probably from drunk idiots being disrespectful! I do believe she's in Taylor's Cemetery, and she's located straight left up the hill, and just over the top of the hill. I believe she's buried next to her husband and child? Not too sure. I have never seen her grave in the dark/moonlight, so I have no idea as to it glowing green or whatever. Just way too spooky for my taste to walk up there in the total dark. I had three friends that did tho. NOthing happened. However, the time I went in the dark with just the one friend, the next day, as I was pulling away from a local tire shop, my tie rod broke on my car! NO LIE! And a time or two I've been out there in the last 3yrs...my car always seems to die, just long enough to freak me out, then it will fire up again. Could just be irony. Who knows? I plan on going out there the night before Halloween though! Hope I make it out alive! LOL

I hate to ruin a good ghost story, but this is all crap.Lottie was my great great grandpa's sister.I have a 4 generation family picture with her in it.She was a good ,christian woman, according to my grandmother. She is buried at Taylor cemetery, along with her 2 husbands,a daugher,& a grandbaby. Thanks to idiots going there a "pissing on graves" & busting tombstones, the infant no longer has a marker,& Alice's is almost gone. You wonder why no-one tells you where it's located? And for the above mentioned that pissed on the grave, please tell me where your family is buried so I can return the favor!I have approx. 30 family members at Taylor, those of us still living ,would appreciate you treating their resting place as you would your family. I place flowers on their graves every Memorial Day ,so hopefully,it will remind others that these people were humans that still have family in the area .As for all the paranormal reports, you're in a cemetery, there are probably hundreds of spirits, human or otherwise, why chalk everything up to one urban legend?

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aquarius

The more you want to control someone, or someone wants to control you, the more difficult life will be today. It's a Full Moon and a lunar eclipse, so the last thing you should do now is to act as though you own this person, or tell them what to do, because it will be an instant recipe for rebellion and trouble. Mars is retro in your house of significant others and open enemies after all. If you don't want to spoil the evening's celebrations you'll have to make compromises, and hope that this other person will do the same. Don't let the fuss stop you having a very happy New Year's Eve.
