Yes, apparently they go back on Monday and hopefully she pissed off the Judge again. I really hope they take her away in shackles and handcuffs. I have been watching this story unfold since it started last year--what actually happened today in court?,and is her sentencing actually supposed to happen Mon? Did they bring Mike into this finally, as I can't believe that he isn't somehow been indicted along with her! I was hoping to hear from anyone who was actually at the hearing today. Also, what time is the hearing on Mon, as there are people on this thread who might want to go. I do know they really don't have any family left, as the grandparents are very elderly and have major health issues, and the grandfather on the other side isn't much help either, so what will happen to these kids? There doesn't really seem to be anyone looking out for their future if both parents end up in jail-what a shame for them all.

I live close to the Smileys, as well, and have never heard one bit of remorse on their part regarding these crimes. They portray themselves as the victims and are very arrogant when confronted.
I cannot believe that no one within the judicial proceedings has brought up Angela’s addiction to gambling. She has visited Las Vegas, many times a year, for the past 10 years that I have known them. She brags about her winnings but never tells about her loses. I am not talking about $10 or $20, but thousands of dollars. I think that once one starts putting this piece of the puzzle together, one can deduce where the money went.
I am surprised that Angela did not use this as her defense in court as gambling addiction is a disease. I assume that this would suggest that she is vulnerable and, thus, would not want to admit she has any kind of weakness. Everyone that knows her, is aware of her addiction and braggadocio regarding gambling. I would even suggest that her role model for these Vegas trips is very close to home.

Did anyone attend the hearing that was supposed to be scheduled for today? Just wondering what the outcome was.....

Got the scoop. Monday the Judge called Angela a liar and she came off as smuge in the courtroom. They are investigating all financial transactions that the Smiley's have made for the last few years and the Judge told Angela if he finds anything amiss, she's in deep doo doo. The Judge has also started the ball rolling on investigating financial transactions with Angela's parents and Mike's parents to see if there is any paper trail on hiding assets. The Judge is also threatening to revoke her bond. It looks like Angela is finally going to get her just rewards with a much stiffer sentence and perhaps a tougher prison.

Heard that she is currently wearing a jumpsuit. Sent to jail Monday for contempt for continuing to not produce court requested documents. New hearing for late in the month. A couple of weeks in county will scare her to death. Keeps this up and she won't get a country club prison.

Ive seen it up close, and I can assure you its not....i feel worse for unnamed family members who she conned into certain things, who had no idea there was impending danger to lose everything they had worked for their entire lives. Per the court's notes, Angela was detained as of 4/10/07.

She is in the Federal Prison Camp for Women in Troy, Mo. She will sit there until her next hearing at the end of the month. I'm sure the wheels are turning....she has nothing else to do!

how do you know she is in a Federal Prison in Troy. The BOP only states that she is in Transit

Go to Federal Bureau of Prisons, then hit prison locator and put in ID# or name. I agree it says in transit. Perhaps #31 has other info.

Are you kidding? Is he any part of any of this mess? Is Mike Smiley aware of this-sometimes they look as if they have lived separate lives even though they were married...

Mike and Angela lived very separate lives. This guy lives in N. Carolina and she always introduced him as "her client". She would be dirty dancing with him at Aqua Vin or doing drinks/dinner at Busch's Grove. One evening I was entertaining my clients at Busch's and I spotted her at the bar. She must have spotted me too because she came over and said hello--in front of everyone. I wanted to crawl inside a hole. I made sure it was a very short conversation. Their house is in foreclosure as of last Sept. or Oct. as well as an office building in Chesterfield. By the way, Mike collateralized that building with stock his parents owned. Now that this building is owned by the bank his parents are out a ton of money. Mike called me looking to lend him--that too was a very short conversation. Although they were being investigated by the federal they kept trying to get my wife and I to to put money in very questionable investments. She was actually kicked out of Mizzou for stealing money and credit cards out of her sorority sister's rooms. Many, many stories about these too characters that I know first hand. There is no doubt in our minds that we were 'marked' by these too crroks.

Actually at one point (before I was aware of their legal situation) Mike tried to get me to purchase several million dollars in tax credits which the treasury department issues on a regular basis. When I asked him for a spec sheet as to the type, quality and maturation dates of these credits he said that he couldn't give that information to me. I told him that it was going to be impossible for him to matket these tax credits without showing investors what they were considering investing in, however, he insisted that the person he was getting them from was an attorney and that he wouldn't release that information. I blew it off as just another one of Mike's hairbrain deals I later found out through a former friend of Mike's that these "tax credits" were only valid in the state of California and that the "attorney" he spoke of was a guy who traveled from state to state (probably running from the authorities) trying to scam people with these certificates. I guess when your being investigated by the IRS, FBI and the US Postal Service and know your days are numbered you'll try anything to keep your head above water.

You can go to this site and see the old Angela in her element. I don't know who the guy is in the picture, but I'm quit sure Angela isn't looking like this right now.
