A public disservice

Is it not against our contitutional rights to kick people out of a town when they have broken no laws? are we not even free enough to look for a lost animal anymore? How can they control us like this? I am going back to la verne ca. and to the fountains trailer court to find my cat! even if they put me in jail!

I was driving thru la verne ca on the night of the 15th with my friend, 14yr old daughter and my cat nila. I stoped at the chevron on foothills and my cat jumped out. we were unaware and drove off. came back 30 min later and was looking for 2 days when my husband and a friend drove up from vegas to help us. that day we were kicked out of the fountains tailer court by the manager because of a woman that I think has my cat. She had told us when we aked if she would call if she found her, that she would not call las vegas, but keep the cat herself as a companion for her dog.(good luck nila hates rat dogs) after leaving the fountains court my daughter and i were pulled over on a public street next to the court where a friend of my husband was looking for the cat. We were forced to sit on the sidewalk and I had my truck illegally searched, our friend was searched for no reason. And then we were told we were abused verbaly by the police. We were told if we didnt leave to whole town of la verne in 30 min we would be aressted. I thought it was our right to be on the public streets of a town in america if we were not breaking the law? we never went back into the court after being told to leave, there for never trespassed and no law was ever broken! I am in vegas and out of my mind with worry!! i was told if i came back to la verne i would be arressted!! I am appauled by the way all 5 of us were treated by the so called public servants in la verne. Integraty? Where? I did not experiance any in la verne ca! there is even a city code that says if I think someone took my cat, the police are supposed to help me get her back. Its against the law to steal a person animal!!! what happened to the days they hung horse theifs?
I intend to come back to la verne and im letting everyone one know. I am going to find my nila even if it means going to jail!! perhaps then it will make the news that the police and city officials put a woman in jail for looking for her cat. That wont look like la verne has intergraty then will it? My cat "Nila" is white grey stripes, had purple harness on with a tag that said abby. has a broken tail 3/4 way down, blue eyes and was lost near fountains tailer court. If you have any info that would help me please please email me asap!! a reward is being offered! And please if you are with the media please spead the word about my story. I would like everyone to know if I go to jail for looking for my cat!!!

Yes, but I think the point you are making is that there should be higher standards for people in public life? It is a shame that the public has come to expect such poor behavior from people in the public eye and that the media and others excuse the bad behavior by saying that it only involves their private life, it is actually a demonstration of their character and morality(or lack thereof).The public needs to be intolerant of this poor behavior and demand these people who are in public life be good examples for the community.

Im sorry to interject my story upon you but I have no choice. anytime you let the police get away with the attitudes and treatment they dish out, is one more step in the wrong direction. they are winning! Valerie, I hope you find the cat. Cat stealing is probably not a crime because cats are not usually considered property, dogs, horses, cows, but not cats. Sorry. I woud advise you in the future to keep your cat in a carrier at all times when out of the house.
