Is Diana Olasz Ripping Off The Tax System?

I see Ms. Olasz has her mother's name on the house that the Olasz's bought back in 1995. Sale price???$1800.00 !!! It's worth $129,00.00 now!!Both Dan and Diana live in that house. Ms. Olasz put her mother on the deed to get senior tax discounts from the borough,School,and County taxes. Plus the $600.00 paid out to the seniors each year from the state from the Pa, Lottery. I say they are ripping off the system!!! Let them put the house in their name ,let them pay the full taxes like the rest of us. Why use your mother's name on the deed while not paying your fair share! Can Ms. Olasz answer this? Or do we wait for another letter?

I smell a fish here too! With all the senior discounts on paying your out there,I think I may put my father's name on my deed, He can buy it from me for a dollar. I to can pay lower taxes. I mean if a couple like the Olazs's( both have great jobs) can do it,why cant I ? I want to pay lower taxes too!!!

He pays all his taxes ,and not at a discount,he will stop corruption in the school district,he will ban all gun clubs at Westwood. He will stop ALL contractors from putting in a bid,then raising it later for kickback money.

another letter? I agree why put your mothers name on the deed? Arent Dan and Diana living there? Isnt that they house? Why is the name on the deed "SMITH". OH yeah!!! That was Olasz's maiden name.
I can only see one reason that two people who have good jobs wnat to beat the tax system with Ms. Olasz's mohters name on the deed? Everyone knows that seniors ( who own a home) get terrific tax breaks on county,borough and school taxes,plus the addition 600 bucks a year from the Pa, Lottery. Both my wife and myself are in our 40's,can we put my 78 year old mothers name on the deed to my house to get these great tax savings? If everyone did that,wouldnt the borough,school and county be short of money? Is that legal to put my 78 year old mothers name on my deed? I would feel bad if I was breaking any laws. If it was all legal,wouldnt everyone be doing it? It sure would save me about $1200.00 a year on all my taxes PLUS get a 600 dollar check from the Pa Lottery every year

I'm sure the Olaz's know exactly what they are doing as far as putting her mother on the deed.

Dont forget all the senior discounts for home improvements.Almost every contractor gives out senior discounts to improve your home.As long as you can prove a senior's name is on the deed,,,,,you're good to go!

I just think someone didnt use their head when they put then return home address on their letter,a name inside would be enough. I mean her husband's a Magistrate that send alot of people downtown in handcuffs,never know about sickos that walk the borough,that were once in jail. Bad move! In my opinion.

I think it's a shame that people that have great jobs still try to scam tax money by putting one's mother on a deed to get around the system.

She cant even pay her taxes on time and she can make discussions on the board giving out bonuses and raises? She's not paying for it,she gets her school taxes reduced because she has her mother as the sole owner of the house on the deed.
A way to get out of paying her fair share.

Oh my, things must be getting bad to resort to such tatics. Be real, Olasz hired Risha, after he has a shaddy past to say the least.
Our school board thought they were untouchable and knowbody would care and life would go on as usual without anyone knowing what goes on.
Just look what happened to South Allegheny's board when they hired Risha, but our board thought they could get away with it. Now they are running around like a bunch of chickens with thier heads cut off.

Interesting how on the county website Friends of Diana the treasure is Olasz Sr, and the only contributors are Diana. Instead of paid for by the friends of Diana Olasz, why don't you just say it is you. Misleading, if you ask me.

I can name quite a few houses in West Mifflin with either the parents or the grown children have their name on the houses and don't live there. You don't want to go any further with this. You may find out quite a few more of West Mifflin's finest has done this. May just open your eyes to things that go bump in the night. HA HA HA

How coinicidental that the Olasz's paid their "late" county tax right after "mom" got her $600.00 check from the state that sends them out every July 1st of every year from the Pa Lottery for the senior home owners.
It's on the website,when they paid their "back taxes" ( late July)with penalties back on 2006,and 2009. Kinda funny how it would work out that way

I see the Olasz's puppets are staying away from this topic on the back taxes. I just want them to admit that the Olasz's dont pay their taxes on time. A simple YES or NO would work!!

Lets give out more raises and hire more people,while the state is cutting back on funding for all schools in Pa. do you see a tax increase soon? I thought the letter sent out by Olasz said the district was in good shape?

In the West Mifflin Area School District, Business Manager Dennis Cmar said there is now a $430,900 hole in the budget -- the size of the fiscal stabilization grant the district expected to get.

"This is sobering news," Mr. Cmar said. "This is money that school districts had expected."

Mr. Cmar said he had planned to use the funds to "offset revenue losses and tax losses due to economic conditions."
