Tennessee Football Players Face Armed Robbery Charges

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.— Three freshman Tennessee football players are charged with an attempted armed robbery.

According to Knoxville police, wide receiver Nu'Keese Richardson and defensive back Janzen Jackson and Mike Edwards were arrested after the early Thursday morning incident.

The victims told police they were sitting in their parked vehicle at a gas station near Tennessee's campus when two males, one brandishing a handgun, approached.

The two suspects demanded whatever the victims had. When the victims showed they had no money, the suspects joined a third man in a Toyota Prius and left.

Police located a Toyota Prius matching the description and the victims identified Richardson and Edwards as the men who approached the vehicle.

Officers say they found a pellet gun, drug paraphernalia and a plastic bag containing what appeared to be marijuana.

Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton says he is evaluating the incident.

so where is dim slim or is it the white mans fault they did this.......... but like already said a damm shame when even given more opportunites than many others and for some an opportunity they would give their right arm for, they appear to have messed it up.

Tennessee alumni need to step up and provide support for Kiffin's players or they will be going to the U of M or FSU.

Designer clothes, jewerly, TaTs and dope cost money.

Admittedly, their jail sentences should be increased by at least 50% for stupidity, but UF doesn't just lead UT in the conference standings:

Its a shame because many of these athletes get free rides with scholarships and paid through "jobs" given by Alumni and other supporters. They have no need for money for anything. The NCAA should step in if these schools don't and suspend them and revoke the school's scholarships for failure to take action. I don't fault the school for waiting to see the case themselves but once the facts are established the response should be immediate.
