Let them kill each other off, it'll only save us taxpayers money in the long run. Not to mention, it'll prevent these predators from being released into society later on.

have you given any thought to the employees that work there, so these people aren't on the streets threatening the tax payers?

Think about it. These people chose to work at a prison. They weren't forced. They chose to work at a place that holds and accumulates society's worst examples of the human race. They knew the price and still chose to work there.

I still say let the population kill each other off. It'll only benefit the rest of society and mankind in the long run.

Says whom? Just, because you think it's wrong doesn't mean it is.

who cares...they are in prison for a reason and that just goes to show you that they cannot behave in prison what makes you think that they are ready to come back to society...which does not want them anyway...the gang bangers should be armed with one pistol and sent to Iraq to fight the war..they love to shoot and kill and be "bad boys" then you could send our loved ones home...
Give the Bailiffs cart blance...if one steps out of line...shoot him and make the bullet count..then they will learn to behave or suffer the consequences...

How sad it is that most of you posting are not aware of the prison issues facing our society. True, there are many people in prison that deserve to be there...but there are many that really don't. As an ex-inmate in both state and federal prisons, I can assure you that many of the people I have met are good people that just made a mistake. I robbed several banks and spent time in the feds...but since my release, I have done nothing but tyr to better my family, my community and my world. My kids are A students, I help out at the YMCA and Boys & Girls Clubs...believe me, if you met me, you would never believe my criminal past! All I am saying is, people do things out of desperation and can and often do change...if you write-off all inmates as the trash of society, you are turly mistaken and very un-informed.

Please, don't attempt to make the exception the rule.

By your own admission you robbed SEVERAL banks. You didn't stop at one to pay off your bills, or buy your family food (as if that justified it), but went on to rob more and more. Through whatever means, you continuously took that which was obtained through another's blood, sweat, and tears.

Your kids are "A" students. This is, by no means, through your doing, so don't attempt to take some sort of misguided credit for it.

So, you say you've changed. That doesn't erase the past. Nor is it any indication that you won't do the same in the future. Now conversely, those who haven't done these things in the past are a better bet that doing those things that you have that they won't do in the future. If I don't rob a bank when my family was starving, in the past, odds are that I won't do it in the future.

Whereas, you've already jumped that hurdle and are more inclined to do it again. No one says that you WILL do it again, it's that you are more inclined to.

First off... you are all a bunch of self-righteous judgmental sheep! Do you believe that everybody lives life strickly according to man-made laws and is a good person because of this? And furthermore... do you believe everyone who is in prison is guitly of a crime? How fortunite for our Government that people do not think. If you did... there would surely be a revolution!!!

As a former officer at this prison (Baker CCF)The first thing that pops in my head is relief that no officers were injured. Unfourtunatly that prison is extrmely under staffed and often runs just 3 officers for 288 inmates..So with staffing such a problem incidents like this are bound to happen..

I was there when this happened what you don't understand is this is a minimum security prison no one has over 2 years 70 percent of the people there are non violent drug offenders really just drug addicts who should be in a rehab the rest are petty theft theres no murderers or rapists or child molesters. Basically about 10 black guys jumped on three white guys beat them up over some black guy disrespecting a white guy then it became a race thing. It was about a 30 minute standoff then everybody gave up cause no one there is really a tough guy but you have to play the role while your locked up but the staff more than over reacted because they couldn't get the yard under control because they are actually security guards not cdc prison guards this is a privatized prison and any lard ass with a ged and a fairly clean record can get a job there so they called the national guard meanwhile no one got stabbed no one was killed or even close.
No one wants to talk about the real issues at this prison the fact that 10 or more of the guards are related to each other, the chow hall was condemmed years ago but the inmates are still forced to eat out of it. The Food is shipped from the high school in town (half of which is eaten by the family that runs the privatized prison) is cold by the time it reaches the prison theres no microwaves in the chow hall to heat up the food. The same family that runs the prison owns several stores and restaurants in baker and thats where half the food that is for the prisoners goes While the inmates are given barely enough to live on. Food in prison is never good but this place makes you long for LA County Jail. They don't serve any fresh fruit because some inmates make wine out of it. News flash you can make wine out of almost anything ketchup vegetables corn rice almost any grain. The staff at CCF Baker has made up their own rules. The recreation dept budget is cut more and more every month to satisfy the share folders of cornell the company that owns ccf baker. So money that could be spent on some sort of educational program is nonexistant theres no educational program at all and the poorest excuse for a library which is 50 percent romance novels and 25 percent bibles. You know what would save tax payers money? More community service programs where people who aren't violent and are just stupid druggies could clean the side of the road or a city park instead of paying cal trans and city workers a ton of money for doing the simplest jobs. Or instead of spending the 40,000 a year on housing an inmate maybe you could send them to a trade school for half that and maybe they won't come back to prison cause they will have a life. Theres no job training or education in california prisons unless you have a large sentence to do like over 5 years and even then only a small amount of prisoners are even allowed in the program and then its just mostly building trades which are pretty much nonexistant jobs in california thanks to all the people hanging out in front of home depot. Who ever wrote this comment is a fucking moron you asshole I'm in society I'm not violent and I never have been. I'm now going to college and been off drugs for 2 years not every one and probably half the people in california state prison shouldn't be there or should of gotten a lighter sentence meanwhile baby rapers and gang bangers and car thefts rarely even do state time they usually do 30 days in the county,

Are you serious no one at this prison ever is going to attack a guard they are to busy smoking crack smoking weed and shooting herion this is a minimum security prison you can not go this prison if you have ever had any violence on your record what so ever and 70 percent of the people are nonviolent drug offenders or first timers half the yard is under 26 years old. Theres cameras every inch of the yard yes there is 3 guard patroling the yard but theres a lot more in the front office and a few in the office in the middle of the yard armed with tear gas, batons, and pepper spray guns that look like super soakers and some more weapons and not to mention the entire neighborhood next to the prison about a 30 second walk is all the staffs residents. Yeah not one officer was hurt in fact the riot was stopped by a 70 year old man who is the "recreation director" and a 70 year old or older woman who's worked as a guard their for over 20 years by the name of "grandma" are you serious this place is a joke there was about 10 people total both black and white who instigated this thing and they were shipped that night to a real prison. Why don't they play the tape of the riot cause every inch of the yard has security cameras why don't you take a good look at that riot cause it was a joke.

I have an Uncle in prison and let me tell you he didn't do anything so bad he should die in prison. It's really sad that there are people like you out here that think so simple minded. Not everyone that does wrong deserves to die. Have you never made a mistake?

Wow I can't believe how judgemental some of you are. I was a CO at Baker CCF, The inamates of Baker CCF are not even close to being violent offenders, some DUI, some drug cases. Most shouldn't have even did time in my opinion! Actors have more DUI's then I can count and have never spent 1 day behind bars!!!
As the former inmates have stated, Baker CCF should be shut down!! The chow hall he described has holes in the floor big enough to put a body through it and in that hole is flowing sewage, so not only do they have little and cold food to eat, they have to smell the stench at the same time!
They are taunted by CO's, who like he said are nothing but security guards, they try to stir up the inmates just so they have an excuse to abuse their authority by extending the inmates time or throwing them in the whole or worse sending them to Chino where the real criminals are!!! These inmates mostly just want to finish their time in peace, they are harrassed in visiting while with their families, harrassed when they are sleeping!! I refused to sit by and watch the mistreatment and I quit!!! I made many attempts to take it to the top, but again like he said everyone of them is related!!
Kudos to the inmates who are out now!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Leo

It's hard to pin down a certain person today because they're being so vague and dithery. Ask them a question and they'll vacillate or be unable to give you a straight answer. You might suspect them of deceitful goings on but it's far more likely that they're simply in a world of their own and can't keep their mind on anything for long. Don't worry, they'll soon be back on planet earth.
