They might not have any fancy degrees but they are good people and do good work. They come from a long history of bike shops

Well, so far they have been working on my bike for YEARS with no evident results!! I was out in Colorado, my parents knew Justin, and they took my late 70's model Kawasaki in for me as a "surprise" for when I came back home to visit. That was almost four years ago. After multiple phone calls from my parents, and now that I am back in Florida, from me as well; I still don't have my bike back. We have a ton of excuses about why, but no word on the bike. I am going up next week to get it back and take it to a real mechanic whether it is ready or not. Anyone who says this is a good shop either works there, or has had an ENTIRELY different experience than what I have had. We have had nearly unlimited patience with these people, and in return we can't even get the courtesy of a phone call to let us know what is going on. Crap service, and crap attitudes when I do get in touch with them (they seem exasperated that I actually want MY bike back at some point). This review is going up on EVERY website I can find if my bike is not back and working by next week. I assume that since there are good reviews here that someone who works there HAS to be checking here at some point, so fair warning.

Update - got bike back today. I was wrong about the amount of time - two and a half years, not four. Work had been done on the bike, they just could not find all of the necessary parts for some reason to finish. Had to trailer the bike home, but Justin did take all labor charges off for me - just charged for the parts. Wish this had turned out much better, but it could have been much worse.

Update #2 - After doing a ten minute search on google, I have found all of the parts that "could not be found". I also found most of the parts that were put on the bike at nearly half the cost of what I paid - although I am sadly sure that is what they actually paid for them. The real kicker to that was that we had offered to pay for the parts as they came in, I had offered to help find the parts on line (my parents gave him my email address - asked him to just email me a list of parts), but we were told that it wouldn't be a problem.

Definately not a motorcycle shop. If justin weren't there it might be ok as far as atmosphere. There is a reason that these people left tampa. If you screw enough people over or the right person eventually you have to pick up and move. These people don't have a clue on what they are doing. If you need a blinker replaced or a mirror mounted, or your a rub that cant change your own oil this is the shop for you. And the guy that said they are lawn mower mechanics....thats just wrong, you have to have some kind of mechanical ability to work on a lawn mower and the guy they hired to do that isn't there anymore.

long story short you can screw your own bike up for free, don't take it to Jp and pay to have it screwed up.

You have disrespected my parents and I will not tolerate that. My father John Lovengreen opened his shop in Tampa. It never moved for over 60 yrs.started a motorcycle riding club and was honored by the A.M.A. in Daytona before his death in 1985 as the oldest club in Fl. His shop was the oldest in the bay area honored by the Tampa Tribune on numerous occasions. All this in the same town same address never moving. At his death my mother took over the business full time for another 25 years to this day she is in her seventies and still enjoys riding her own motorcycle.Neither her nor I have ever been run out of town for any reason, Google the shop Lovengreen Sales or her Patsy Lovengreen or John my dad try clerks office hillsborough county no complaints blogs nothing only the good stuff because they were the best and the club they are still active too. You state you live or are from Milton Fl I would like to get together to have a chat. Just to set the record straight about the best motorcycle shop that was in Tampa. I mastered honda yamaha suzuki kawasaki and harley davidson while in school I hope to hear from you soon.

I pulled up to J P Cycles today and was rudely met by the owner who thought I was breaking in to his crap hole of an establishment. He had forgotten to lock his gate at lunch, so I pushed it open and he greeted me with, "What are you doing here dude?" As if I were robbing him and he had caught me red handed. What do you think I'm doing here? I'm trying to get my motorcycle fixed dude. He then told me, "Good thing for you my dog wasn't out here, or he would've chewed you up." I informed him, I guess he was blind of my size, that I was 6'2" 215 lbs, and would body slam his mutt if he ran up on me. Then he tells me, "I'm booked solid for the next 2 months, and am going on vacation next week." First of all, do I care about your vacation, and who the hell is booked for 2 months straight, when he only had 3 lawnmowers, and a couple of bikes in the shop? What is he doing to them? Complete restorations on lawn mowers? So what do I think about J P Cycles? I think the owner's a bald, lazy, sorry excuse for a person, who couldn't spell cat if you spotted him the c and the a. And if you take your bike there, you're an idiot.
