So, I'm just guessing that the little girl runs into the house, gets a knife, and no parent or authority figure asks..."Where in the hell are u going with that knife?" It's a shame. Where in the hell were the parents when all this went down?

Besster question: Where were the parent for the last 14 years?
If they were around to be a positive influence and regulating force in this child's life, I'll wager this wouldn't have happened.
Typical absentee parenting of certain cultures/communities in Albany.

Hey down there in Albany.
First off, I am sure you attempted to spell better instead of "Besster," or atleast, I hope that was your attempt.
Secondly, I have worked in the Juvenile court division with too many kids and their parents to say one race is less than or better than another. I have seen countless white parents who could have cared less about their children. More times than not drugs/alcohol were involve, however, there race was caucasian, white.
So, if you are making a jab at any race, and you are white, go look in the mirror, because alot of the parents who I considered just about equivalent to garbage were white.
Furthermore, it is unfortunate any child, regardless of their race is not cared for........
Guess what, we are all in this sea of humanity together. None of us our separate from our human brothers and sisters no matter what preconceived prejudices you may walk around with. Wake up, what can you do in your community to make it a better place for "All" to live in?

Sorry, looks like you are in some Norman Park, GA. Oh, by the way, I am White..........And, if you are white, you need a major overhaul in your thinking, or perhaps, it is abit too late for you, as you may be old enough to be on your way towards the transitional ending of the next beginning.

Yes, I was in a hurry and meant to type, "better".

Now why would you immediately assume I'm racist? How do you know I wasn't including white trash in my comment, and was exclusively talking about black people? Sounds to me like you've got some sort of personal issue you need to deal with before attempting to advise others.

Ok, so you're white. What does that have to do with anything?
Oh yes, I forgot, we're all racist down here in the South, right? Sounds to me like you're the one making the unfair generalizations.

You never mentioned once in either of your posts above that you were not referring to the African American race. Secondly, yes, I do believe the majoriy of you good ole folks down yonder are racist.
Thirdly, I think my read of what you posted was/is right on the mark. If it wasn't, you would have clarified your point, which you did not even attempt to do. Wake up, acknowledge you are a racist and be proud of it, if this is the view you hold. Don't run around with a facade like you are a puritan baptist who loves everybody. That is even worse than being racist.

Seems to me that whoever the asshole from up North is, should mind their own business and post in forums in their own community.
Also, none of those comments look blatantly racist to me. I think the USoundRacist/First Off poster has some sort of issue with Southerners, and has no room to call anyone else prejudiced.

If I am not mistaken, it is the KKK who dresses "Incognito." I could see you now in your tall pointy white looking dunts hat "Incognito."
Ofcourse those comments do not look racist to you, because you are probably a racist. They come natural to you, just a fact of racist life.
Oh, by the way, I grew up in middle Georgia in the country surrounded by racists. It is not difficult for me to detect a racist. Have you ever slept with a African American Woman, just curious?

You're really grasping at straws that just aren't there with the kkk comment. How lame.
Apparently it IS hard for you to detect a racist since you seem to think everyone is one. BTW this thread and none of the comments contained therein are racist in nature, although they could be considered racial. There is a difference.

Also, what does my sex life have to do with any of this? If you must know, I had a black (NOT "african american") girlfriend for almost 2 years when I was living in the UK.
So is that my badge of non-racism? I think not, but since you seem to be so curious about the subject, there you go.

What you've obviously taken from your time living in the South is that you think everyone here is racist.
What I'm observing from my time here is that many (not all) black people here use their race as an excuse for their actions and situation, and are quick to say their being persecuted because of their color, not because they stabbed someone to death or commited armed robbery, etc..

Yes, I fully agree that much of what is posted on this topic could be "considered" racist; I for one, consider much of it to be racist.
Secondly, kuddos to you for being open enough to share meaningful time with someone of color.
Last, but not least, you know, as well as most southerners know, racism is alive and not well in most parts of the southern U.S. You may not agree with that, so I will just go ahead and agree to disagree with you. Then end!

I am black. I am also not a racist. The facts of these crimes indicate a local black community that is in large measure violent, dishonest, animalistic and frighteningly out of control. I also believe that a big part of the problem is that we have persons in places of power who are blind and unresponsive to the black and white community's problems in Albany.

I am white, not that it matters in the spiritual scheme of things, however, I do agree with Dr. Luv 100%.

I would agree in totality. As I read the post I did not see any mention of race. From what I have observed, people often take the words of others out of content in efforts to deflect their own shortcomings. Absolutely no need for the rash assumption.

I do agree, Dr.LUV. It seems to be much easier to turn away and talk about the problem rather than to problem head on. I honestly believe that the problem in Albany is a combination of social-ecomonic factors, race, and education. Unfortuantely many of the black residents are becoming more and more disenfranchised.

How do you come to the conclusion it is the "black" residents who are becoming disenfranchised? I am interested in how you came to your conclusion. Your conclusion sounds more like speculative reasoning that concrete fact. Perhaps, it is the white residents in Albany who are becoming disenfranchised or a combination of both races.

There comes a time when every individual must be personally accountable. Blaming a perceived societal unfairness or inequity is not useful and, frankly, probably a causative effect on the vast minority of criminal activity.

We need to quit making excuses. Plenty of poor folks African-Americans, and including whole poor imigrant cultures have pulled themselves up and become great success. Black leaders and clergy need to reject the nasty rap and the violence and that whole aggressive subculture and work to help make these kids successful in the channels that lead to success, not prison.

The criminals, gangs and drugs dealers are more destructive to America and Albany than anything al Qaeda has done and likely could ever do.

But how tolerant some segments are or how we all often turn a blind eye.

Does anyone really think that Albany can improve under these cicumstances?

Keep calm! Your emotions are becoming increasingly heightened and intense today. As a result, you're likely to take things much more seriously than usual. That's wonderful if you're involved in a hot and heavy encounter with Mr or Ms Right, but it won't be such good news if you go overboard about silly trifles. If you're doing some last-minute shopping you'll want to be as extravagant as your budget allows. Or is it a case of Budget...? What budget?
