I've been in this store several times and find it not only well-done and tasteful, but a real bargain compared with other adult stores. In this country we are free from restrictions that the town of Babylon is trying to impose.

Sneek A Peek co-owner Diana Hiotis said her store is a retail establishment. "We cater to couples," she said. "We have people that live in the community that absolutely love us."

#1 - I pass this establishment several times during the day and night, and I have NEVER seen any couples frequenting the place. What I have seen is men only, both during the day and in the middle of the night.

#2 - As far as people living in the community that love them, I, for one, live in the immediate vicinity and am disgusted with their being where they are. I've spoken with many other area residents, who are also appalled that a business of this nature is operating where it is and want to see it gone!!!

#3 - They've also advertised their illegally-operating business by canvassing the area and placing descriptive flyers on the windshields of cars belonging to residents. I don't know of any other retail businesses in the area that feel the need to do this, nor have I ever had another retail business in the area do that in the 25 years I'm residing here.

Stick to your guns Mr. Bellone. There are rules that need to be followed by all residents of the Town of Babylon and this business should not be an exception. You know what's right and wrong for a community, and this situation is definitely wrong. We're counting on you to follow this through and do the right thing by us. Don't let us down!!!

I find this very disturbing- when you drive past the store at night, you can see right into the windows..... I have three young kids, and I dislike the fact that some inappropriate material is right on display, in plain sight, as we drive past!

Gimme a break! It's not like there is porn and a real-doll in the window! People are overreacting here. I think West Babylon is a perfect setting for the store too.

If these people were so concerned and good parents what would they have to worry about? What are they selling in side? So every store that sells lingerie should be shut down? or just this one. Macy's should shut down, they sell lingerie.

OMG... do people have nothing better to complain about. From what I saw in the video, isnt this store on sunrise highway. They mentioned how children pass this store goign to school... okay lets focus on the REAL issue now. WHY are children walking along a HIGHWAY such as sunrise to get to school?

You wanna talk about corrupting children, look at all the SMOKE shops along sunrise highway and in our towns. How bout all the BARS that PD goto frequently... and they are going after a store that sells adult themed clothes??? Lingerie is just as bad as a bathing suit, covers up the same, sometimes more, sometimes less... lets find a real issue to focus our time on folks... like the many people who flip their cigarettes out the window causing more polution and starting wild fires risking the homes/lives of many people... or how bout polution or theft or any one of the other number of REAL issues...

so instead of going after a REAL issue we're trying to close a business down so the owner can't support her family? Have people no heart anymore!

Certainly there are other appropriate places where Ms. Hiotis can operate a business of this nature. Perhaps she can turn this into a home-based business and have her neighbors as loving customers. Since she's offering a "wonderful" service, and saving marriages (as she says), I'm sure they'd welcome her with open arms.

They should probably cover up the windows and not advertise in a trashy way. Victorias Secret sells lingerie also right next to kids toy stores in the mall. So it's ok to sell, just cover it up so kids don't see it. The peep show crap needs to go though. This is not 42nd st.

No matter where this store is people would complain about it.Hello...moms and dads maybe you need to explain to your children what exactly this store is and whats going on iinstead of trying to get it closed.Be informative and more open minded. Most kids are starting to have sexual intercourse very early so if you think that eluding them away frm this store and getting it thrown out of the neighborhood is going to stop that ...your wrong.

Get this place out of here!!! It is located not only near a Jr. High School, but next door to a Gymnastics Center frequented by young children and moms that take them there. This store is open at all hours of the day and night - I've passed there on my way home from work and have seen them open as late as 2:00 a.m.(and I'm sure they remain open later than that), and this isn't just on Friday or Saturday night. Also, if they are a retail business, what is the need for them to be open around the clock? Is it that other things are occurring there during late-night hours when town officials wouldn't be on-the-job, and therefore the chances of the establishment getting caught are slim? This is not the type of business we want to see in our community. Move it to Massapequa Park where Hiotis resides.
So are you against that it is near the gymnastics studio or open late at night? I'm sure the gymnastics studio is closed well before 2:00 AM.

people just automaticaly jump to conclusions what is going on in there. But all of you have no proof. Do you. I bet none of you would have an objection to a new liquor store opening up? Who cares if it is by a Gymnastics center or a JR high school. First, do you really think the kids will be shopping there? Second, what ever is in side, well the kids probably know about from you letting them watch MTV and any other channel on TV, unless you censor your kids to just watching Sunday Mass on TV. Hell, look at the disney channel, shows that star kid favorites Hanna Montana and Raven, those girls dress in provocative ways and discuss sexual things. But my assumption is that most of you think that is ok. You all automaticly think that couples boutique equals strip bar. they are two different things.

The community must like the store enough if they are still open after all of this stuff going on.

All these "so called moms" who are so worried about their children and are "disturbed" by an adult store are the same pathetic women who go out and buy their kids all kinds of violent video games and movies. Hey the movie SAW IV opened last weekend, how many of you protested the movie theatres for showing such a violent movie? None of you. So why is it ok for the movie theatres, which are right smack in the middle of communities and in shopping centers, to show violent and extremely graphic movies which you know kids are sneaking in to. Meanwhile a store which caters to adults, and no kids can get in at all, is getting your hipocritical bull s-hit. Get you priorities straight you stuck up huns! Kids are shooting up schools and bullying. Your kids are seeing alot worse in their schools than just what they "may" see walking past a store window. And you wonder why America has the worst crime rate of all the developed countries in the world? It's because people like you are more worried about your kid "possibly" seeing a nipple paasing by a store, while you take him to the video store so he can watch a woman get raped and mutilated, or act it out in a video game. Do everyone a favor, and go back to college and learn some facts about societies and what really effects them before you open your garbage holes. Maybe you'll learn that an adult store never did any harm to anyone.

"There is an adult video room for patrons 21 and older."

Sexy lingerie and adult board games are one thing, but the back room with the video booths is a whole other story. Is this how Hiotis is saving marriages? LOL.

Perhaps you're so upset because you're a family member? Or a close friend? Request that this business be moved to your home area of Massapequa. Then you could support it all you want (perhaps even get a job there!) and you'd not be subjected to opinions that would make you "Mad".

You think West Babylon is a perfect setting for this store do you? What a foolish comment. The community members of WB are working in tandem with the town to get rid of this store. WB just like any family oriented community is NOT the place for an adult shop.
I have no issue with the store and what it sells, materials for consenting adults. What I do have a problem with is
1. Its right near our JR High
2. Due to her displays in the window my eight year old calls it the "booby store".
3. The characters I see in and out of there. I have not seen Mr. and Mrs, Honneymoon as the owner claims her customers are couples. I see men - men - and more men.
Diana you are in the wrong community - we will fight you tooth and nail with every legal avenue available - you seriously underestimated the parents of West Babylon.

Exactly, these people are so blind about what really matters and what really has an effect on kids. The bottom line is that these women are using their kids as excuses for their own insecurities. I bet if you asked the kids in the nearest school they probably wouldn't even be able to tell you the name of the store. But like you said, I bet they know the name of the nearest bar or place they buy cigarettes. These people have no clue and it's their kids who grow up the most messed up of all.

I'm against it being near homes, a gymnastics studio, and the fact that this business operates all day and all night during hours which residents both young and old, male and female must be subjected to the low-class clientele that a place such as this attracts.

Sounds like a bunch of uptight idiots with the typical not in my backyard syndrome. Suffolk has adult businesses all over why is this one any different.
They arent selling porn its for adults. Who cares what little turds see maybe the parents should just say its store for adults. WHo care is this even news worthy?
After they shut down the store the town will complain about the illegals using it as a day laborer spot. At least this store is owned by citizens and paying taxes. Whats the problem

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Aquarius

Unfortunately it won't take much to get your wires crossed, especially if you're trying to keep track of your Christmas preparations. It's hard to work out what still needs to be done. A member of the family is away with the fairies or is being completely fanciful. It's a pest because that sort of behavior can make you feel anxious and harassed.
