What is up with Highland spending all this money on the round a bout they could have just fixed the holes in the road and used that money for much better things!

I think they keep traffic moving - this one will be a real test - good thing they did not build this one first.
Anyone have odds on it being open before school starts? There is still a utility pole in the middle of it! |

Most people I see using the one on 40 & 160 have no clue whatsoever as to how it is meant to work. I'm surprised there aren't a dozen accidents a day there. A little common sense goes a long way here. Vehicles already in have the right of way. Please stop entering until there is a safe opening to enter. I'm wearing out my brakes trying to avoid hitting these idiots. Just stop or yield and take your turn, and for Gods sake HANG UP AND DRIVE!

Yes, it is frustrating dealing with those that do no know how to use it BUT it woudl be interesting to see the accident statistics from three years before and three years after it opened. Yes, there was a fatality on a motorcycle but i think there was more to it than the traffic circle itself.

Amen to that...i thought illinois made it illegal to drive while on a cellphone...or maybe the law didnt pass but i agree either way....if you cant walk and chew gum then ignore the call and call the person back when your not putting others lives at stake...i used to have a cellphone but i refuse to own one nowgreat for emergencies but for most days its just a pain in the butt..when did we all become so important? lol |

It would be nice if the News-Leader didn't suppress the news of the accidents that happen at the round-a-bout.

The 2 men in the motorcycle accident had been drinking and were not familiar with the roundabout. They thought it was a straight road. It was also very late at night, If I remember correctly, and could have been around closing time. There have not been that many accidents in the round-a-bout, mostly fender-benders caused by teenagers & old people. However, there does seem to be a problem with drunks who get into the circle and can't get out! |

If you want to know what really happens in town, get a Police Scanner. They run around $90 at Radio Shack and sometimes WM carries them. Most scanner numbers can be gotten from the Internet or at Radio Shack. |

ummmm that is me in the car.that car is parked right out in front of my home this moment in need of a tranny rebuild. 1996 camaro ss i think #724 but id have to look again to be positive. i understand alot of people give fake pictures or names or descriptions of themselves. but im not most people. and i never claimed to be good looking but i can claim to be proud of what i am.
